I just gave my daughter a day at Epcot to ride the new GotG for her birthday. We are staying onsite and planning to purchase ILL for the ride in order to ride. But now I am worried….if they decide to utilize the virtual queue then I’m guessing there will not be ILL available? We have not been to WDW since the debut of Genie+ so would appreciate advice. I realize it is all speculation at this time but would appreciate heading some “best guesses”. I believe Remy and it’s virtual queue debuted before Genie+? Thank you.

Remy used both virtual queue and Individual Lightning Lane from October 1 to January 10, when it switched from virtual queue to a standby line. Many people expect Guardians of the Galaxy to open with virtual queue and ILL. I think it is very unlikely to open with a virtual queue only (without ILL or Genie+).

That makes me feel a little better. We have always had good luck with the Rise virtual queue but not good enough to risk flying across country!;) Thank you.

I’m worried about this for our trip that isn’t until December. We kept pushing the trip because we wanted Guardians to be open. My kids will be so disappointed if we don’t ride it. Will it be like Rise in the beginning where 2-3 seconds is the difference between riding and being shut out for the day. I’m willing to pay but worried that won’t be enough.

If they go the route of a VQ I'm assuming they'll drop windows twice a day. Not sure how it's reliability and ride capacity compares to ROTR but I'm sure it will be a hot ticket and expect the VQ to fill up fast. They are probably waiting to see how the ride performs during previews before they make a decision on VQ. ILL is a given to me, will provide Disney with lot's of cash. Do we think Remy will migrate over to Genie+ or will Epcot have two ILL options?

My guess is that GotG and Remy will both be ILL. And as posted above, certainly hoping for this for GotG! Interested in hearing what others think.

Demand will be so high there is no way they won’t utilize I’ll for this.

A bit off topic, but are you allowed to purchase a ILL and utilize the virtual queue for the same ride (obviously this would require good luck and two phones/devices)?

I’m just hoping it’s not $ILL only because that would essentially amount to a lockout for non resort guests.

Two people would be best to acquire a VQ and an ILL$. I think they will allow you to book both if Disney decides to open GotG with the paid option and the VQ option. But I guess we really won’t know until Disney makes it official.

I’m thinking of a quick surprise birthday trip in mid-June for my husband just to ride GotG and Everest. On our last two visits Everest was down and that’s his favorite ride. We missed out on the GotG AP previews, so I think surprising him with a quick visit to check out the new ride and revisit his favorite could be a fun present. If we do go down, I’m hoping it’s VQ and ILL$ and they allow us to go for both so we could ride it twice.

That would be a stellar birthday present!!!!

It will be interesting come 8/7 to see if Epcot ends up with THREE ILL attractions or frozen inevitably stays genie+

If it’s also VQ off site still would have that option I’ve gotten VQ’s for Ratatouille & Rise from home an hour+ away from parks before
