Makes sense, only if you don't think D23 will sell out if the AP reservations are first.

I so hoped it would be this week. We will be in Hawaii next week and I am guessing with the time difference I will miss it when registration opens. I guess I will have to plan another trip after it opens and before our passes expire at the end of June.

No doubt the reservation link will go live before everyone received an email. A few might get their email before, or about the same time, Disney starts taking reservations

I had that link too and then it went away. Now I get the Thunder Mountain cartoon that says Event Registration is not Open.

You wil get an email with the link but due to something called throttling, not all of the emails go out at the same time (so as not to overwhelm the servers). In the past I have received the email in time on some occasions and well after the reservations were taken on other occasions. Don't count on the email.

It's the same page, just changed now. When it's live, you'll see the names again.

Normally the link is live before the emails go out
The reason is, the link needs to be live when the emails hit a mail box.
I mean, you want a link to work when someone receives is so of course is has to work before it lands in the mailbox, right?
So yeah, the link, if it's the same link that's it's been in the past, will work before emails go out.
Now, it takes a certain chain of events to happen to catch it before it hits your mailbox. Most of it is luck.
You have to be at your PC, you have to happen to refresh the page after they have turned on the sign ups. And it has to be before the emails start going out.
Sometimes all of those things happen, sometimes some of those things happen. Sometimes, none of them happen and you get the email first.
You just never know.
