UPDATE: D23 Reduces Number of Tickets Available for Purchase for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Preview Event

After initially offering up to 4 tickets for purchase for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind preview event, Disney has reduced the number of tickets available for purchase to up to 2 per Gold Member.

When the event was announced yesterday, D23 members were shocked that Disney would allow the purchase of up to 4 tickets – effectively limiting the number of actual D23 members at the event.
D23 was, confusingly, shocked at the demand for a preview event, and had to issue the following update:

Due to overwhelming interest and demand, D23 Gold Members will be limited to two (2) tickets per member to allow more D23 Gold Members the opportunity to attend the event. Both Gold Primary and Affiliate members may purchase up to two (2) tickets each with a Gold Duo Plan.

Some posters think DVC preview requires a direct point stay during the preview
We have Sorcerer AP, Direct DVC and Gold D23, so hopefully we will get at least one chance during our May visit.

We are not using our points on this visit though, we are staying at POFQ.

We will have our two grandsons with us who are not tall enough to ride. I wonder if they will still need a ticket?

Probably, since they will be providing food and beverages and access to the park.

Do they have park tickets for that day? Can you get a park reservation or hop over. I doubt they'll give your grandkids free EPCOT admission or the food voucher. You might talk your way into letting them go in Harmonius viewing and child swap at GofG. I agree with PP. No shot of getting them in EPCOT without a ticket and park reservationsk

that's the thing. they won't be able to ride, don't need the vouchers, and we will be in the park already. I was hoping to not have to pay for them because if they have to have a ticket, then my daughter will need to buy Gold D23 sooner rather than later.

How in the world is Disney continually "caught off guard" or surprised at demand for their events??? Are they stupid? They must be.
I suspect it was supposed to be 2. Either a typo or someone made a mistake.

It's guest paid event offered to dues paying members of a Disney fan club. Why not offer it for more then one night?

the DVC preview for Rat required a direct point stay on one of three days. There was a LOT more availability for AP. I'm not sure if they then allowed signups on the DVC page...

I think if nothing happens at 11am today then we have to wait another day just based on previous releases

Yeah it's been saying that for a few weeks. However the website at some point will start saying that, that's when it's almost time.

Yes - they would need an event lanyard to get into the D23 viewing area. (They can't make exceptions for that because the area usually isn't large enough.) You could always watch HarmonioUS with them somewhere else.

(But then comes the question of where they'll go when the park closes and it's time for you to ride Guardians.)

If I have a park reservation for DHS on the same day that I want to snag a passholder preview for Guardians of the Galaxy, that DHS park reservation won't prevent me from getting the GOG preview, will it?
