Part of me wonders why Disney doesn't just use a lottery system, as opposed to a first come-first-serve mindset.

E.g., everybody submits the date they would like to attend, and those who can attend are randomly selected.

It would alleviate quite a lot of traffic hitting their site (think, hundreds of thousands of people all refreshing right now) causing potential service disruption with the reservation systems.

But then the other part of me is also here refreshing the page alongside you all.

Yes, but I don't think we are 100% sure that is going to be the one they use. I'm refreshing that link and my email just to be safe. It likely will be the link, but I'm afraid of a curveball.

I'm watching this thread like a hawk.......but I'm not convinced bookings will be released today. So far, Thursdays and Fridays have been release dates....

I’m refreshing like crazy and my dh is also. I’m watching my toddler so it’s hard for me to constantly be on my phone. I’m guessing the chances of that link working are high since it’s changed screens

And haven’t they used the same link for several in a row? I know they can change at any time just saying

There was the link on top of this page that used to take you to a registration website (that didn't work because there was nothing to register for) and there's a link that took you straight to the "The wait is almost over" page. Both go to that page now.

is the other link gone from the first page? i only see one now.

No. I hate lottery systems. I never, never ever win those. I am always fast enough to click through.

Every event registration goes through the same queue.disneyparks.com website. Its definitely the same link

Use a different link for each event. With time guests will stop refreshing in advance.
Aren't the reservations available for hours? Lotteries may make sense when they dissappear in minutes. RotR didn't switch to a lottery. Didn't the BP dissappear in a few seconds?

I’m good with a different link for each event. I think they should do that actually. Though really, I think those who even are aware it’s the same each time and look in advance is a small number
