It was 17 years ago today that we went to JFK Airport to welcome our DD from South Korea!

I can't believe she's going to be a HS Senior and today she's getting her Senior picture taken at the photographer.

When she was growing up, every year on this day we would send her balloons with a stuffed animal tied to the bottom of the balloon strings/ribbons. She has quite a few animals from each year. Now, it's hard to do that, as she is driving/working/interning, etc. and isn't in any one place to send them to...:(

A nice day to reflect on the goods things in our lives...:D

What a very special day that must have been 17 years ago. She must have loved getting those gifts ever year.

You could still have the balloons sent to the house when she gets home if that is an option.

How neat! My paretns brought me home at 3 months. The State of Arkansas wouldn't let them have me before that because I had almost continous upper respiratory infection. What did they think...that I would never get sick once adopted?

Congratulations on an apparent job well done :)

Cool. I have two cousins who were adopted, and we had a party every year to celebrate their "gotcha day". It was so fun to celebrate with them. Congrats to you and your daughter. Have fun celebrating.

What a sweet post. :)

A dear friend just adopted a little boy from Korea -- guardians from Korea were assigned to take him from Korea to the US. My friend and her husband awaited his arrival at the airport -- such a joyful day that was. :)

A very happy "gotcha" day to your DD. :)

What a wonderful day to be celebrating! We celebrate our first one the end of October.

I'm adopted also. My parents got me @ 6 months old on Fathers day! So, it is always celebrated, (indirectly):D .

What a wonderful way to celebrate! I wish my parents would have done this too. (more presents!;) )
jamsmom, I was also brought home at 3 months.

My sweet Godchild's parents celebrate her "gotcha day" each year too! My little Dana is from China. She also now has a younger sister from China so now they will be celebrating TWO "gotcha days" in their household!!

Happy "Gotcha Day" to your family too!

That is really neat! Enjoy your "gotcha" day. Our babies really grow up fast, don't they?:D

I have a beautiful 3 y/o niece from China who came to the US on her 1st birthday so it is a double celebration each year!! She now has a gorgeous little sister who came to us from Korea in February at 7 months old. She will be turning 1 in July & I look forward to many years of summer birthday & winter 'gotcha day' celebrations with her.
Happy Gotcha Day to your DD and your entire family!!!!!
