As most of you know, I've been living with my DD, her DH and my just-turned-seven-year-old granddaughter since last October while my son-in-law has been renovating my house so I can sell it..
Well - a week ago my DGD went over there with my DD to give my son-in-law a hand with a few things.. When she came up here to the lake last weekend she was all excited - telling me how different the house is now; how nice the 2nd bathroom is; how pretty the new kitchen cabinets are; etc.. Then she piped up and said, "Grandma, I wish you could buy your house back again.." (She hears us talking about selling it and doesn't quite understand that I still own it and would not have to "buy it back" from myself.. LOL) When I asked her why, she said - "So I could still come over for sleepovers.." I then went on to explain to her that if I were to do that, I would have to move out of their house - which means I wouldn't be living "right across the hall" from her bedroom.. When she heard that, she changed her mind REAL quick and told me to sell it to the people across the street "cause their house is too small anyhow.."
It got me to thinking though.. I miss those "sleepovers" as much as she obviously does and I'm trying to think of something I can do when I go back home to their place that would be like a sleepover - without actually leaving their house..
I know you guys are REALLY creative, so who has some good ideas??
