Got weighed today.

I haven't been weighed in a year. I have been on a diet since February. I just found out today that I weigh the same as last year. All this dieting to find out nothing has changed. or I gained so much weight over the last year and only just lost it since Feb.
We don't own a scale and I never remember to weigh myself when we're at the grocery store.
So, now I'm depressed and grumpy.
So sorry for dumping all this on you but I am so upset and I'm too imbarassed to talk to DH about it.:confused3 :confused3 :sad1: :sad: :sad2:
 
I am sorry you are upset. What kind of food plan are you following? Maybe you need to switch something up? Have you been measuring as well? Sometimes when the scale doesn't move but clothes are fitting loose and the measurements are down it can really boost moral! Keep up the good work and you will continue to see results. Don't give up!:hug: The wish journals are good for posting and encouragement. Maybe you would want to try journaling for awhile? Just a thought. :D
 
First:hug: - Now what plan are you on or are you just eating sensibly? I agree w/previous post journal everything you eat - EVERYTHING! next are you routinely exercising? Are you drinking enough water? Also most plans require measuring out portions in some food category - you'd be amazed how 1c of lettuce quickly becomes 1 1/2 then two(I am on Atkins) measuring for me is essential and keeping a journal. Also trying to be healthier through diet exercise life style changes are never for nothing - if you hadn't been dieting what you saw on the scale may have been worse! So you are here at the WISH board and its the best place for support advice and its a fun place! So grab a clippie and jion us on our road to a healthier life! It's easier with support!:hug:

I have been doing the Blood Type Diet. I woudl say I haven't done well over the past 2 weeks. But since Feb. I have been strict witht he eating. Finding time to exercise and doing the right kind of workout is a whole nother ball game.
I guess this was a wake up call and I need to get alot more serious.
I will use the WISH board for support, advice and fun. Thank you again!!

Good luck to you! Encountered a similar situation myself.

I have been exercising a lot more during the last several months. I have also been cooking healthier food. So I thought I have been doing great!

Was embarassed to discover recently at a weigh-in that I have actually gained weight! Yikes!

OK, I had signed up for WISH a month or so ago, but hadn't been checking in every day, etc. Looks like I will need to be getting more intentional now, too! :)

Don't be so hard on yourself. First, keep in mind that you may have lost weight that was gained within that year.
If you really don't think you lost anything in a year, remember the key is to find a diet that works for you. If you are not loosing on your current diet, maybe you need to find a new plan.
I've tried so many different diets, until I finally found one that works for me. (I'm on Atkins, but Atkins isn't for everyone.) I would advise you to look around and decide if you need to change your plan to one that will help you reach your goal. Don't let yourself get down over not loosing. Make today the first day that counts.

If you really don't want to own a scale, try this. Go to a mall that has a GNC store, or other store once a week and weigh yourself. The fear of weighing myself in a publix place will help keep you on your diet. Also, do meal postings on the board so others on your diet plan can review and help you.
