Got to experience a rollback on Velocicoaster….

So out of that second tunnel where you get that huge boost of speed to get over the large drop, we got to the top and didn’t make it. We rolled backwards back into the tunnel. I read this can happen from time to time if you don’t have enough speed and weight to get over.

We sat for about 2 minutes and then they came on and said they were going to roll us back and try to shoot us over again. We rolled a bit back outside of the tunnel and then slowly rolled back into the tunnel to shoot us over which was awesome (to go 0-70 so fast). We got over on that try. It was an experience.

Hadn't even thought about the fact that the launch would be from 0-70 instead of 40-70 for a more forceful launch. Would be awesome to experience that.

Modern coasters have sensors and stop points to prevent this.

I love Velocicoaster, but this would freak me out! Don't love going backwards anyway. Glad you got to have the unexpected fun, but I hope I don't!

This happens often on launch coasters. I had it done to me on Dragster at Cedar Point 3 times in a row. We made it up 400ft and rolled back.

True, but technology failures and accidents do occasionally happen. As someone with a high level of anxiety I would still be freaking out.
