I got to be in the parade at Disneyland, I got to dance with the characters and got a Blue Fairy Pin afterwards! It was really fun and I will never forget it! :cloud9:

The best part for me was getting the pin. Being in the parade made me realize there was no hope for me going professional. My high kicks were dismal!

Well this sounds like such fun. We are going to DL in December. How did you get to be in the parade? Where do you go to get picked? ask? pay? I don't know, but would really like to do this with my dd (11) she is such a little actress and dancer she would have a ball!!! Can you please share?

TIA

We were in the parade a few weeks ago. There is a double decker bus that travels around picking up the guest performers about an hour before the parade starts. We saw the bus as we were getting off It's a Small World in Fantasyland. I am not sure where else it goes - maybe others could help you there. When we were on it it also stopped by the Matterhorn and Alice in Wonderland and along Main Street. I would think that you would want to get picked as early as possible. I think they use around 50 people. Just go up to a cast member with the bus and ask if you can be in it. You must have sturdy shoes on like sneakers - no flip flops because you will be dancing along the parade route. They also ask you to sign a waiver in case you are injured during the parade. Just be careful of the trolley tracks along Main Street! It would also help if you didn't have a lot to carry or could stow stuff in a locker temporarly.

My niece is 12 and a dancer and we both had a blast doing this!

Congrats!
Definately one of MY most magical DL momments!

We just did this today and it was so much fun!
We thought we had a great plac to view the parade from. It was a nice bench AND in the shade on a hot day. Well I saw a castmember in a pair of blue overalls and knew he was from the parade staff. I told my son about people being in the parade and asked him if he wanted to try it. So he runs over and asks if we can be in it. We all did it (DD 6, DS 8, DH and me.) They do have a minimum height requirement of 46" and you have to sign a liability release but we did it and wore tutu's and marched with the hippo and the elephants. Got the pins too which was a nice surprise. I tried to take photos during the parade and got the backs of the kids but at least I have something to prove we did it. I have a great photo of my DH in his tutu for future blackmail.

I had seen that same parade when we had visited DL, and remembered seeing the guests dancing with the hippos. That is so cool that a few of you were able to join in the magical fun.
