Step one towards our return trip to Universal, this time with the kids. We bought our tickets, now we are trying to decide when to go. A lot depends on airfare, but we are thinking about either the last week of August or the Last week of June when school lets out here. We will be staying on site for FOTL if booking allows (and if we couldn't stay onsite we wouldn't go until we could if there were no vacancies), so factors will be crowd sizes and possibly how bad the heat is for kids in the summer. (we have went to Disney each time in January and Universal in October). For those of you (and I expect replies from you Spidey and Fly Fly) who live there and go all different times of the year, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all, Your Prince

I would go in late August. In late June all schools are out, but in late Aug many local schools have started back. Also, in late August many older kids have started their fall sports, band, etc, even if they go to a school that starts after Labor Day. We went in late August a few years ago and the crowds had really thinned out. I've heard that it gets busy again for Labor Day, though, so try to go before then.

It is very hot, but if you go first thing in the morning, take an afternoon swim break (or head back to the room if there is a thunderstorm), and then return to the parks it isn't too bad. By August, depending where you live, you will have gotten used to the heat and it won't seem as bad as earlier in the summer.

I would say go the end of August. Florida schools go back the first or second week of August, so many may be taking last-minute trips (*cough*like myself*cough*), in addition to everyone else who has summer. By the end of August, more kids will be back in school.

Though it's too bad June and August are your only mentioned options. You have to worry about heat, during both times (unlike up North, it's still blistering hot through September or later), and Summer-time is infamous for Florida's pop-up thunderstorms. YUCK!

But, between June and August, I'd say August. I've been in June and August...crowds were horrible during both times. But with FOTL, you shouldn't be *too* bad...I managed to take my cousin in early August without FOTL.
