Got the last "Tier 2" seating at HDD - is it going to suck?

The dining reservation CM told me that we had got the last table for "section 2" seating, but she couldn't tell me if that was cause for concern or not.

Does this mean that we will be in a really bad spot, like behind a pole or something?

I read somewhere else that if you sit upstairs, you are actually facing away from the show...is this true?

Would I do better to cancel and try to book another date?

TIA!

We sat upstairs once and it was fine.

The tables are pushed against the balcony, and you sit facing the show (all next to each other, like at a counter)

We had no problem with our seats, we actually liked them. The actors still come up to you, as a matter of fact, that was the time my DH was in the show!!

We sat upstairs last May. I prefer to sit upstairs it seems to be more room.

I don't think that any of the seats are really bad there. I wouldn't worry about it. Go and have a good time, its a lot of fun!

In the past when I've called for reservations, I've always asked for the seats on the second floor sides. We always felt more comfortable up there because there's more room, and had a great view.

Imagine how silly I felt to find out these are apparently the "bad" seats. They're the tier 3's.

In other words, don't worry about being in tier 2. They'll still be good seats, and you'll still have a ball.

Our party of 8 had tier 2 seating (downstairs) and it was great! We were on the dining plan and that was the best we were going to get. We had a great view, loved the show, loved the food and had a blast. DH and I are going to DW for Xmas and New Years and I plan on booking the HDDR again.

Enjoy!

We had tier 2 in March for our family of 5. We were seated at the last table in the middle of the back row. The only thing behind us was the doors and the stairs for going upstairs. The table was beside a pole not behind it and the seats were fine. We could see everything and the actors move all over the floor. They even go upstairs. It was so good that my son was choosen to go on stage and be the cowboy in the end performance. Just remember to bring a sweater it is verrrrry coooold in there.

the upstairs is actually a better view for when the actors leave the stage and interact with the audience. we prefer the upstairs and ask for cat 3 when making the ressie. last year the center table downstairs was a no show and they came around upstairs and asked if anyone wanted to go down and got no takers.

Not to be a jerk, but I got the best seat in the house last time I was there with tier 1. I was pushed up right against the stage!

My family reunion is going to be there sept 6 and I believe we probably ate up 1/2 the tier 1 seating (25 of us lol). If you are doing hoop dee do than, we will be the mob up front lol :cool2:

This is a description of the catergory seating. Taken from allearsnet.com

"Category 1 will allow you and your party to be seated on the first floor level with your table nearest the stage and in the middle of all the action and excitement.

Category 2 offers either a great table on the first floor behind the Category 1 seating below the balcony or in the center of the balcony on the 2nd floor. Either way, you're still facing the stage so you can get a wonderful view of the entire performance.

Category 3 offers tables that are located on the right hand side or left hand side of the balcony on the 2nd floor. You won't miss a moment of the fun and excitement as you enjoy the panoramic view of the entire stage production."

when was your reservation made for? I'm curious because I'm waiting to make ours through group dining in October. It's already been a few days past the date we can make them, but we are waiting on some people to decide whether they are going or not.

I think we had the same table!
