Email was compromised. What is wrong with these big companies that they ca n't protect my information??!!

It's because they all use Epsilon to process their emails and it was Epsilon that was compromised.

My email has been blowing up with warnings. The question is how do you know now if the company sending any future email is really them?:confused3

I got one from
Kroger, Chase, Target, Best Buy, Walgreens, Krogers and TIVO...DH and I are just laughing now.

I told him we should open an email service!! :rotfl2: I know a couple of companies that might be open to a new service!

Disney on Saturday, I ordered HSN online and by 9 pm had a notice from HSN that email was compromised....

I've received the email from: Disney, Best Buy, and 1800Flowers.
My hubby has received the email from: 1800Flowers, Chase, US Bank.

I'm just hoping that it is simply emails that have been hacked. I don't respond to email requests, so even if the hackers do send me an email request they won't get anything from me...

I recieved Target last night and Walgreens today, I still have not rec'd one for DD :confused3 The only other one I rec'd is from HSN days ago, it seems as if anyone you do business with uses that company I should have about a dozen more coming, since I order online all the time

Disney, Chase and Target. Technology is great but not a guarantee in security. I haven't received any wierd emails......yet.

Doesn't really understand what people are upset about. In the big picture, yes, it's a problem. Some people could start receiving better and more believable phishing emails and the uneducated could fall victim to a scam. However, for an individual who practices safe email habits, this is not a big deal. It might increase spam. I can deal with that.

It's not like these companies aren't trying everything they can to protect the information; hackers are just that good. I see it like a giant game of whack-a-mole--eventually every company is going to lose.

Add me to the list....Walgreens, 1800Flowers, Disney, Target, Chase, HSN & Best Buy so far. I'm sure they'll be more.....seems Epsilon had cornered the market on email services.
