We got our magic bands in the mail so do we need to do anything to activate them or are we all set ?

No, so long as they're connected on MDE to their "owners" (or you got them as part of an AP).

If they're not AP bands you'll want to have park tickets linked to them if you haven't already (one per band, which you can do through MDE) and then, of course, the requisite FP+ assignments and dining reservations!

If they are for a WDW resort PACKAGE (room and tickets combo,)
the tickets referenced to the MB's will be "activated" for park entry upon check-in at the resort.

Thanks for asking this, OP.
If I understand correctly, we have 2 APs and 2 7 day park hoppers. All MBs are associated with each ticket holder. We planned to pick up our tickets at will call. Is it necessary to have the actual tickets in hand or will having our MBs suffice? Thank- you!

I had a resort stay but purchased my tickets separately and had them linked for Will Call as well. In my case once I checked into the resort (but not into the room because it wasn't ready yet) they said the will call tickets were good to go and I could just head straight into the park.

1- You can do so, but it is not necessary for regular tickets.
You should always pick up an AP card.

2- Yes. (Unless something goes awry with the MB's.
Then, having the plastic tickets could be very helpful.)

The only fly in the ointment if you do that is that you won't have your AP card to show for discounts.

For some reason, I thought that the OP already had the AP's in-hand and was only asking about the regular tickets.

Regardless, I edited my earlier answer to reflect the AP issue.

Thanks for pointing it out. :thumbsup2

How long did it take between the time you customized them and their arrival in your mailbox? Just customized ours yesterday.

They won't ship them til the actual customization time is "up". (I customized mine back in March but they're shipping out today). The last ones I got were shipped out using UPS ground which is usually 3-5 days depending on where you live so figure 1-2 weeks.

After my customize date was past it was about a week. They came about one week after my Disney resort reservation package came.

Put the AP voucher number into your MDE account.
