We're heading down for 3 days/4 nights early September. We have MNSSHP booked Day 1, AK Day 2 and Epcot Day 3, so we only have one AK day. I did get a FP for FoP for 5PM ,sooooo happy about that. :cool1:

AK has 8AM EMH that day. Here's my dilemma:

  1. We at least know we will ride FoP once at 5pm. Is our best chance of riding FoP more than once at rope drop? Im sure we will want to ride it more than just once, right?
  2. Do we rope drop for Navi River Journey instead? Or can we try this later in the day and avoid the rope drop all together?
  3. Standby times are still so crazy, with school being back in during our trip I'm wondering what those September stand by wait times are going to look like? Tonight at 6:50PM it's showing 200 min for FoP and 90 for NRJ.
Maybe this is more a wait and see what the crowds look like once school gets back in, thoughts?
thanks!

I recommend riding more than once.

What I would do is get to AK 60+ min before park opening. Be among the front of the crowd and head straight for FoP. Ride it then immediately head to river journey. Those that have done this have reported just a 20 min wait for NRJ. But the key is being ahead of the rope drop crowd

This all sounds wonderful but you do know some have had their FP's cancelled due to FP's on party tickets? DIS Board Link: https://www.disboards.com/threads/w...from-4pm-6-30pm-with-a-mnsshp-ticket.3622575/

This is what I'd do. If the park opens at 8 am, I'd be at the park at 6:45. If you do that, you'll walk onto FoP and have a short wait for N'avi.
I'd also keep trying to modify the FoP FP. Whenever your sitting around doing nothing, go on the app and keep refreshing it looking for an earlier FP time - that way you can get more FPs once you've used the first three. I had a lot of success this last week doing that ... I even got FPs for Na'Vi (and toy story and rnrc and great movie ride and Kilimanjaro ... and a bunch more)

Thanks @CAS239, That is a solid plan. Arrive @7 and stay ahead of the crowd. Super Excited!

Thanks @LaurenT I need to start checking for that earlier FP!
