Got our 2 BR booked 5 1/2 months out!

I just wanted to post my exciting news to me...
I reserved our July stay today from work! It was about 4 PM and I was nervous we wouldn't get an opening due to the fact that it is so close and everyone has probably already booked...
Well, I got OKW 2 BR Villa Dedicated for July 12th through the 17th first time I tried! This is our first "real" ressie on our newly purchased AKV points!
We will stay on developer points in April at SSR and then OKW in July!! I am so psyched!
I must say it took awhile for me to decide which resort we would stay at in July too- But w/ the point value on the 2BR I can bank 50 points into 2010 and it will enable us to continue our "regular" plan of vacations even w/ the point change!
Now, to decide what area of OKW would be best... (close to ammenities & pool) and what we will do in July... I am still trying to get April set up- LOL
What a problem... Figuring out activities for twice in one year trip that I thought would never in my life happen until we found DVC!!!
We love DVC!

Congrats!! That is so wonderful. Just curious why you didn't pick AKV?? Doesn't it open in May?? Was it just the point value of OKW? I hear the rooms are huge!

Yes- I really wanted to carry points over this first time- Even if the charts stayed the same it was our goal on why we purchased the amount we did...
We can stay at a 2 BR about anywhere for at least 5 days as long as we get the ressie! & for AKV I really want a Savannah view or Concierge but if we did that this time it would take every point we bought... Plus, next year we would have to shorten our stay...
Our goal is try all resorts and this way, I get to try one more resort (That I think I will love) and next year stay wherever and still bank a few points- I like the idea of banking but not the idea of borrowing- LOL
I guess as long as we get at least one stay a year I can keep myself from adding on... Ya think? I hope so because I am really getting weak! LOL Addonitis is creeping up on me and we haven't even stayed there yet... YIKES!
I was pleasantly surprised at getting the ressie though- I had a back up plan just in case but I was psyched it worked out the way we planned since I took so long to call! I just really couldn't decide once the announcement was out- should we stay somewhere we couldn't stay otherwise at our points before they went up and maybe not being able to get the "extra" points OR sacrificing our length of stay... OR staying at the "better value", save points over and being able to stay at AKV next year (while still fairly new) and still be able to bank a few points to 2011...
It is amazing how it worked out!
