Got New Mickey Monitor-Waste of Paper

How disappointed I was when I received the new May Mickey Monitor in my mail today. No discount published after this magical July 3rd date. In the 'perks in your 2003 pass sleeve section', the only discounts are for water sports and epcot lunch deal. Even the discount published for Ft. Wildreness is up July 3rd. Why waste the money on the mailing of this, when the only dates for discounts you are addressing are not even good for the entire summer!

Very very disappointed, and such a waste of even recycled paper.

I'm fairly new to the Mickey Monitor since we started getting AP's in December 2001. Were there lots of discounts in the MM before 9/11?

I was disappointed also, but decided to take the discount for Vero Beach and give it a try for a Disney destination at the beach.

Quite frankly, untill I discovered the DIS, I thought Disney never gave discounts except to AP holders. Now it seems like they are running out. Maybe, Disney is just waiting to see how ressies run for the summer before issuing anything new. Or perhaps ressies have been picking up and Disney doesn't see the need. I hope not or I'll have to go back to staying off-site when there are no AP discounts.

I got mine today also. I agree it was a waste. It really had no new information in it at all. I hope this new marketing meeting today will help all of us AP holders out. We will just have to wait and see

I think we must all remember that not everyone reads the DIS boards or something like it. I am sure to the majority/a lot of people some of this info was new. I personally didn't know about the Animal Kingdom scavenger hunt for AP holders. It also describes Star Wars weekends and the Flower and Garden show. It shows the special Flower and Garden show pins and the quarterly AP pin. Etc.

I think if you were just waiting for the Monitor to get discounts, then it was obviously a disappointment. But I don't think that is the only purpose of the Monitor. I also don't think it was a waste of money. I, at least, learned something.
