Got my Packet!!

Just got home and had my info packet that I just called for on Monday! That was quick- it came FedEx. It wasn't what I thought it'd be, but that's ok. It just had a brochure on SSR and one on the point charts. I don't know what I was expecting- I guess an application or something. Anyway, I called my guide to ask one final question about the $5 buyback being towards my down payment or amount financed. It's towards the amount financed, but that's ok because we're getting a good tax refund! Now I just have to wait to get the rest of my W-2s in and I'll call to get set up!! YEA!! I'm so ready to hear "Welcome Home", but it'll be worth the wait. Now I just have to make sure DH doesn't chicken out!! Hurry W-2s, hurry!!

I would call your guide and ask if there is any other info they can provide. Last fall, we got a box that was about 2" thick. It had a lengthy, color guidebook that explained most details on the program and had point charts for all of the resorts and other "Collections". We also had a SSR insert--probably the same one you received. But there was also a VHS tape that really did a WONDERFUL job of explaining the program. It is only about 20 minutes long, but it gives you a quick look at each resort, and talks about many of the other locations available.

Even after staying at a DVC resort and being comfortable with the financial aspects, it was the video that really pushed my wife over the edge. She was impressed with all of the other locations that we could access. (Although given how "expensive" they can be, I haven't told her yet that we will probably NEVER use our points for anything other than a DVC resort. Shhhhh.)

Yes, I got the video, but I also had already ordered that from the website. That video is what has helped my DH decide to do this. But now he's worrying about being able to afford just going (tickets, food, etc) every year. But I told him we can go every other year and get even better palces to stay.

I hope you decide to join us! It is a wonderful club to be in and everyone is soooo friendly. My first trip home is coming up soon and I can't wait to make it official and hear "Welcome home!" in person. It's a great feeling and I hope you get to enjoy it someday as well!
