Got my laugh for the day

DH is a regular at his dry cleaners and he went to pick up his stuff and it's after work so they're busy. There were some other people there too waiting for their clothes so one worker sees him, recognizes him and goes in the back to get his things. She brings them out and hangs them up. To his horror he sees that he got a pair of his undies mixed in with the clothes he took in to be cleaned.

That's not the worst of it. They hung them on a hanger like the kind they use for shorts and put them on the outside of the other clothes so everyone in there saw his underwear.

And that's still not the worst of it. They had a big hole in them and they were sure to hang them so the hole was on the outside for everone to see.

Still not the worst yet-this part had me howling. They put a big orange sticker right on his underwear that said, "Sorry we tried but could not get the stain out." I about fell off the couch laughing.

It probably looked to everyone waiting that he brought these ratty old stained underwear in to be cleaned and they couldn't get them cleaned when it was a total accident that they were in there with his other clothes! He said he pictured the dry cleaning people trying to clean his undies- wearing Haz Mat suits and yelling, "They won't come clean."

And I was sure to point out that I'm sure everyone in there KNEW what the stain was. He always has goofy things like that happen to him. Am I weird to think it's hilarious???

Somehow I'm going to get this picture in my head the next time I walk into the cleaners.

A true story - one of my aunts worked at a dry cleaners about 50 years ago. This very elderly man brought in some pants to be cleaned. A piece of solid fecal matter (trying to put this in a way so I won't be banned) fell out of the pants. I was just a little kid, but I remember her telling this at a family get together.

Well, everyone in my family thought it was hilarious -- except DH, a regular at HIS dry cleaners, who oddly only found it mildly amusing. Maybe it was a little too close to home for him!
