Got my Destination D and Scavenger Hunt ticket!!

I had to email D23 about the Destination D tickets, but it appears they're probably going to be able to add them to the Scavenger Hunt that we were already able to confirm. Whew! Glad I was reading on here and commented that we didn't get in initially - otherwise, I would have given up. Thanks to all who let me know there were still tickets available!!!!! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that it all worked out! :cool1:

I'm in too!! I wonder how many tickets they will sell for this? I am just doing the Destination D event.

I spoke to Becky Cline (Director of the Walt Disney Archives) today, and I believe she said 1,300...same as the Disneyland event.

Watch for more from Becky Cline on the Blog and/or Podcast soon.

Sweet! I look forward to hearing what she has to say. I wish I talked to her more when I was at the Sip & Stroll last year.

Pretty cool!

We can't wait till May, it is our first D23 event even though I am a charter member, we just never had time.

I'm sure you all got this email:

We are looking forward to seeing you this May at D23's Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th in Orlando! Response to the event has been so phenomenal we have added additional capacity to the venue. And because of member demand we are opening the event up to D23 Members plus THREE guests. If you would like to bring one or two additional guests with you, please send us an email at D23memberevents@experient-inc.com and we will begin processing your request. Thank you so much!

It doesn't sound like a good thing to me. "Member demand"??? Really?

I think they can't sell it out so they are going get more people by every member bringing more. I don't know how I feel about about a bigger crowd. I am sure that they will add some capacity if they need to.

I just got the same notice. My first response was "D-23 is in a world of hurt!"

Looking at floor plans, the three major sections of the Fantasia Ballroom have a Theater Style seating capacity of 1,090 each. This does not take into account any space for a stage and screens. Att he three main sections and you have capacity for over 3,000 people. If you consider the entire ballroom, with all ten of the maller breakouts, the capacity is over 4,000.

Now they did have about 1,300 attendees at the Destination D in DLR last September. I imagine their target was 2,500 for WDW, as this would allow for all the seating, plus the areas for the stage, A/V control, etc. I am sure they have not reached this and are now screaming.

I think it is kind of pricey, which is a deterrent for some. That's why I'm going alone. My dh couldn't get off work and I wanted to bring my older dd but the price for airfare, park tickets and destination d tickets was just too much
