Got Le Cellier :) - Help Me Drop a TS!

Thank you for all the opinions! I really appreciate them, especially since I've never been before. :) I think I am going to drop the Boma ADR. :( Without a car, I think it will be too much. To get home we'd have to take a bus to a park, then take another bus back to our resort, correct?

Don't know if you're bringing small children with you or not, but even with my 5 year old, H&V doesn't appeal to me at all. That would be the one I'd drop.

I would *NOT* drop Crystal Palace. That one is AWESOME!

Otherwise, if you're sold on H&V, you might drop Sci-Fi. I like Sci-Fi, but it's not a place I'd want to eat for dinner. I prefer it for lunch.

We have a 2 year old who recently fell in love with Little Einsteins coming with us. :) I can't wait for CP, so I'm glad you like it!! We are actually doing Sci-Fi for lunch - did I put dinner in my post? Sorry if I did, but I heard lunch was better than dinner, so that's what I booked. :)

We really enjoyed the breakfast at H&V. Can't comment on the lunch, but as far as the character... my girls were 2.5 and 6 when we went last December and loved it. Now they have Handy Manny and they would have loved it that much more. We knew who JoJo was, but couldn't remember Goliath's name for anything.

You have some of our favorites chosen - Tusker House for breakfast is our absolute favorite character breakfast (we did 6 on our last trip). We enjoyed CP as well. Le Cellier was our overall favorite meal (we did deluxe dining and enjoyed 17 wonderful TS meals)!! Just my family's opinion, but we ate at both Sci-Fi and 50's Prime Time Cafe and the food was much better at Prime Time. It was a fun restaurant. My kids got a kick out of seeing their Dad get in trouble constantly by our waitress. She was a riot. They don't pick on the kids there. Our waitress said they get on the adults only because they like kids! Just something to consider.

As far as Sea World - it's an all day thing for us when we visit our local Sea World in San Antonio.

Have an awesome trip!!

I also would drop Bona's. Don't know what your seating time is and I wouldn't want to rush back just to eat. There is a lot to do and see at Sea World.

The bus service can be a little slow during the dinner hour, transferring from one resort to another can sometimes take up to a hour.

I'd definitely keep Boma. It's one of my favorites!

Based on your schedule, I'd drop Akershus. Instead of having a full dinner after eating lunch at Le Cellier, why not just pick up a snack or the whole family can split 1 or 2 CS meals.

No contest, hands down... drop Sci-Fi. The atmosphere is awesome, the food is gross. Enjoy Le Cellier!! It's delicious!!!

I would drop H&V. You can see the Little Einsteins at Playhouse Disney and maybe even a meet/greet too before the show starts. Otherwise, your plan b to drop boma on your universal day might be a good idea too. Good luck with your decision.

I would probably drop sci fi. Its pretty dark in there and will your dd be entertained by the films, sitting in the car etc?

If you dont want to drop any, pay OOP for your cheapest meal. We did that in december and ended up paying for tusker house lunch which was the cheapest of our adrs.

I would keep Boma for the food and atmosphere. Yak and Yeti might be something you could play with too,.

Good luck deciding.Enjoy your trip.

To be complicated, I'd move Boma to replace either Yak & Yeti (most logical) or SciFi Cafe (just not one of our favorites). I agree that you won't want to rush back from your day at Sea World, but found Boma to be a nice experience overall.

We ate at Akershus last night and really enjoyed it. We also did CRT on this trip, and while the magic of eating in "THE" castle was irreplaceable, the food at Akershus was far better, in my opinion, and ironically we saw the four of the same princesses (Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White & Ariel). The ambiance at Akershus was also very nice, it just was not "THE" castle.

I'd suggest dropping H&V, but if your daughter loves the characters, that's another political consideration altogether.

And you can always do Boma on a future trip, if it just doesn't work this time.

One last thoiught. You could just pay OoP at Sci Fi. If you're going for lunch that is probably one of the cheaper meals on your plan. We decided to make a late afternoon ADR at Sci Fi and we're just going to order an appy and shakes to get to experience the restaurant but not have a full on meal.

Another compromise that was suggested to me by one of the brilliant DIS board members and for us it was a brilliant fix for us.

I wouldn't drop Hollywood n' Vine if your child is looking forward to those characters, when we did it we got TONS of great character interaction. Looks like you already have 2 meals with princesses, I would drop one of those or drop Sci Fi (theming is great food is not). Could you get your money back for Cinderella's? We just LOVE Akershus and all the characters AND the cheaper price.

As others have suggested-i would pay oop for Sci-fi for lunch. Another great option my family loves is Cape May at the Beach Club resort for breakfast or dinner -it's pretty easy to get to if you are coming from HS. Just hop on the boat at the HS entrance and get off at the BC. We love to walk on the boardwalk too!! :cool1:

H&V, the food is gross, but the characters are great, so this is one of those you just have to bite the bullet and go.

I don't see the point in having 2 princess meals, I'd keep CRT and drop Alkershaus. I've eaten at just about every rest in WDW, save a few at the resorts. There are only 3 that have garnered the distinction of "restaurants I will NEVER visit again" #1 is Alkershaus lunch and dinner, #2 is Shutters at Carribean Beach, #3 is ABC Commissary. I've had better food at Ikea. I'm generally very forgiving when it comes to WDW restaurants, so for me to say that, is huge. I'd go ahead and drop Alkershaus and replace it with something else around the World Showcase, like Chefs de France, Nine Dragons, Tutto, or Tokyo Dining.

Boma does seem like the obvious choice to go, you don't want to loose time at Sea World to rush back to AKL. Still Boma is super yummy and if you have a car getting there is not a big deal.

There is NO WAY I'd drop Boma. It is our very favorite restaurant at WDW; sometimes we go twice during a trip! The food is "african inspired" but there is also plenty of "regular" food for those who don't care for the african food. How late is your seating at Boma? I cannot imagine that it'd take you much more than 30 minutes from the SW gate to get to your car in the SW lot, drive to AKL, and be into the lobby area of Boma. We just LOVE Boma- no way would I skip this one!

I would definitely skip SciFi. It gets consistently poor reviews, and if you are going to end up with burgers/hot dogs and fries, it's much more cost-effective to do this over at the food court area near Beauty and the Beast. Seriously. You can eat burgers/dogs/fries anywhere!

Gonna have to disagree with you leebee, the setting at Sci Fi is special and is worth it alone.

The food is not bad either and the shakes are down right delicious.

I've never understood the bad reviews for this restaurant.

We have had the issue of needing to pay oop for a meal because we just had too many booked! If you do want to drop a meal, i agree with the majority and say H&V or Boma...we went for lunch at H&V and the food was absolutely some of the worst we have had on property, but we had also been for the breakfast and it was quite good! Go figure!...Sci-Fi is a great atmospere, but the food isn't anything to write home about...I do have to disagree with those saying that Yak and Yeti isn't good! We love it! It is a "must -do" for us in the Animal Kingodm. The ribs are fantastic and so are the desserts! I hope you enjoy Le Cellier! We have never eaten there and I managed to score a lunch ressie for our October trip which really suprised me. It was at 1155 for us also so maybe thats an unpopular time for them? :confused3 At any rate, it worked out well for us! Have a blast!

I definitely would not drop Boma! Boma was the BEST meal of my trip last June and I even considered making 2 reservations there for my upcoming trip. Boma is fabulous, plus the AKL atmosphere is quite nice. I personally would try to drop Yak and Yeti and put Boma in its place.

Maybe!! Ours was definitely a cancelation as I had been trying every day until that ressie finally popped up.

I have decided to cut Boma! :( On our next trip it will definitely be at the top of the list as I've only heard amazing things about it! I just don't want the hassle of trying to navigate to another resort then back to a park then back to our resort when I can just eat at Y&Y in the park we'll be visiting that day. :) Thank you all for your opinions!!

Don't drop a thing! Stuff happens sometimes where you might want to cancel a meal at the last minute. A bad storm blowing through, a sick kid, whatever. It's not a bad plan to have an extra ADR or two for your trip. Life happens.

At worst, pay cash for SciFi, and to keep it cheaper, don't order everyone a dessert.
