I thought after all the reading of codes I'd give it a try and it worked! I got 10 nights at the Poly in Sept/Oct for only $221 a night including taxes! So we will see if it sticks. It was worth a try!

One thing i'd like to add, is that it may depend on which call center you get - i know for sure i got the Tampa office casue my CM was talking about them getting their first frost this winter.Maybe one call center is allowing it and another isnt... isnt there one in CA as well?
 
Would you mind telling us which phone number you used? I had no luck with 1-800-828-0228.

hey!! That means I can try again!! the chance of getting the discount and actually keeping it is worth the attempt! Room only, or package? And did you confirm that you didn't have a pincode before booking?

I needed room only as we have APs and the DDE. I asked the CM if I had a pin and she checked and said no. I asked if I could use the "code" I read about online and she said she would see if the system would take it. It did! She said that was a great price and I agreed. I haven't gotten the Poly for less then $300 in years so gettting it for $221 is fantastic. Good luck!
 
I just tried, with no luck. Agent said I had a pin number, but the offer it was attached to was not valid for my travel dates (which I already knew) The offer was valid for travel through march, we are going in Sept. We only need 2 nights stay, so it was wort a try. I asked if there would be any more offers out there before my travel time, and she said "DEFINATELY".

So put me in the "wait and see" camp :surfweb: popcorn::

Or do I have to have a hotel in mind? Right now we have the Swan booked but would love to stay at the Poly, BWV or BC instead.

I hope the OP had a pin or whoever the CM they sopke to just signed their own pink slip.

Why not just be happy for those who have been lucky?I understand your frustration, but coming on to every post about someone who got it and being all gloom and doom isnt going to make you feel better and it isnt going to change anything.

Sorry, July is not part of the discount target dates. Try Canadianguy's post, He has all of the most current information, plus dates that the discounts are available. Mostly the discounts are for slow times. June and July are not slow and therefore there are seldom any discounts for this timeframe. Right now there is a package that is good for checkin up to June 3, and the discount codes that is all the talk on the boards starts Aug. 21. There are various weeks in and out of the fall and winter times.

Who's gloom and doom? Just stating an obvious point. Apparently, Disney sent out a memo to all CM's that anyone who procesed the discount without the code would lose their job. The OP has nothing to fear from that.

I love how people think those of us who haven't been lucky enough to get a discount think we have no right to be bitter. I'd love to be so carefree and have such little need for an extra $1,000.

Whereas you might see me as being bitter for posting about not getting the discount, I see some as gloating about the fact that they got the discount. I assure you - If I actually DID get the discount, I wouldn't post about it.

I'm not goign to post ANYTHING else about codes, discounts, pins. I have NO right to use this board the same as others do. I have no right to be bitter and make my feelings known.

From now on, this board is only to be used for those who have either gotten a discount, or those who haven't and aren't upset about it.

What was I thinking, that we lived in a free country or something??? How arrogant of me.

HA - No way. I've had enough of being called bitter, etc. As I've stated several times, it's not about the discount anymore. Sure. it'd be nice, but for me, I just want an explanation as to what's been going on. If someone can provide me with that, I'll be the happiest camper on the DIS.
