Got DVC through an RCI trade, now what?

If he's HGVC and looking to exchange into a DVC Property via RCI, he must call the dedicated HGVC number, and choose the option to reserve an RCI vacation... Or you can book through the RCI portal on the HGVC website...

I opened my search in November and finalized and received my match in mid December... Keep in mind, DVC doesn't begin to deposit their resorts until 11 months out... If he's looking for end of October, he should be on the phone as soon as possible to get the best possibility of getting the resort, size etc... that he wants. He'll have to open a search, and when there's a match, they will call him, and see if he wants to accept or reject the match. I had gotten several calls at basically the 11 month mark with different matches... I rejected several know that I wanted either Beach Club or Boardwalk... When a 1 bedroom at boardwalk became available I accepted the match...

After you confirm, you will receive an email in a few days from RCI with your RCI reservation number, and some details about DVC... You will then have to call DVC directly to reserve the magical express, and anything else you may want, eg. tickets, room requests etc... DVC received my reservation from RCI in about 2 weeks.

Just another FYI, in my research, 2 bedrooms are a little hard to come by, so he may have to be a bit flexible... Especially if you are looking for the same exact week, and location....But I would definitely open the search as soon as possible as you are looking for unit sizes that may be higher in demand

Honestly, I don't think he needs to call RCI... He needs to call HGVC, and speak with a person who handles RCI reservations. It is a prompt when calling HGVC... Calling RCI Directly will be of no help.

1 Bedroom at DVC uses 3400 HGVC points
1 Bedroom at DVC uses 4800 HGVC Points

Yep! That's exactly what he needs to do.

I shall let you know what happens. I have a home based business and it is slow , it is easier for me to get things done asap. DH and DFil are out in the thick of it so hoping the phone will not ring for them for about an hour or so.

Thank you! I need all the Pixie dust I can get , I am the co pilot in this part of the planning. It is very confusing and I hate not being able to "just do it" myself. I do however have faith in DFiL to get it done. I do appreciate all the help from everyone. Hope it all happens so i can do a TR on this one. I still have one to do from this past Nov.

No, not with HGVC... All reservations are still done through HGVC, with a rep that handles the reservations for RCI... Calling RCI directly will do no good, even after points are deposited from HGVC to RCI. Atleast that is my understanding... I had the same question when I was booking my DVC Exchange from HGVC to RCI, and was told that the only way to do it, is through the HGVC Rep, or the HGVC/RCI Portal.

Do you have the direct HGVC?RCI portal phone number? Because I think he just called HGVC not the HGVC/RCI . Even I am sure he has the number this is the first time doing an exchange.
