I've been running for the past few years - did my first mini last year in Indy. This January my DH decided to start so he could get in better shape too. He's now ready to commit to the GOOFY in 2009. I know it's a long ways off but it's just exciting since it's something I've wanted to do for a while.

Any tips on the Goofy or is it just insane??

The Tower of Terror 8 mile party race would be a good race to get his feet wet in the racing pool. We promise to behave.

we'll see - he hasn't actually ever run in a race/event. He's planning on running at Thanksgiving with my DSis and I in a turkey trot but that's all he's planning. We'll see if I can convince him. ;)

As dave mentioned, it will be a party. He could run/walk or even walk with us. If not up to 8 miles, the 6.5K would be a good option. It will be a blast and can't miss an Inaugural Disney race:cool1:

You can check out my sight for reports and training ideas as well.

It would be a fun event for DH. Whatever the event, try something that is not as competitive maybe for a first. That would give DH a good sense of the fun part of the event.
