Oh
@Spivey378 I'm SO sorry to hear that you are ill with Covid at WDW! I tested positive this past Tuesday, with DH and one DS testing positive this past Wednesday. We are not at WDW; we are home, for which I am thankful. DH and DS had mild symptoms, and I feel like I got hit by a Mack truck. I cannot imaging feeling this way on vacation. It sounds like you have done everything right and notified all the right folks about your positive test. Bravo! I hope you are on the mend, especially on your way home.
When I tested positive with a PCR test, my provider listened to my lungs and said I had significant congestion, and that paired with my MS made me a candidate for Paxlovid. While I am grateful for the Paxlovid, I had some side effects -metallic taste in my mouth and tummy troubles to name a few. The tummy troubles were significant enough that it would have made traveling either by air or car a challenge. I was glad I was home and close to a bathroom. Just something to consider.
I am vaxxed and double boosted, and I went to WDW in the summer of 2021, and twice in March 2022. All three times I masked everywhere inside, and in big crowds outside, and my travel companions and I did not get sick there or bring Covid home, thankfully. I have another trip planned at the end of September this year. It will be the first time I have flown without mask requirements, and I'm hoping that the fact that I've been vaxxed, boosted, and have had an active Covid infection gives me protection from another infection. I plan to mask on the plane, indoors everywhere, and outdoors when I'm in big crowds, like I did for my previous trips.
I wish you well, Disfriend, and I hope that you get home safely and recover quickly.
