GOT MY CINDY'S PS TODAY...but a weird thing happened.
I start calling around 6:50 (well, 5:50 a.m. my time) and I of course keep getting the closed message (Thank you for calling Disney Dining..." I keep hanging up and hitting redial waiting for the open message ("Thank you for calling the Disney Reservation Center...")
As soon as I hear "Thank you for calling Disney..." I know to hang up because I need to hear "Thank you for calling the..."

At 6:59 a.m. I am still hearing the closed message, but the next call I make I get the dreaded dead air. From what I remember reading dead air is BAD...I start to panic...do I hang up and call again...how long should I wait on this dead air to stop??

I was just about to hang up and hit redial when a man comes on the line "This is Chris, thank you for calling..." Where is the recorded message, why did I get a live person without getting the recorded message first????

I was all flustered because I was expecting to just hear the open message, press 1 and then blurt up "Table for 6, Cindy breakfast 8/18, anytime", but instead I got a human without hearing the recording! After catching my composure I asked for my table and was given a 8:25 am PS, a little earlier than I wanted but I wasnt going to argue!

Phew!! I am so happy I got it. My only question is that he never did ask me how many children and how many adults. I gave him my credit card number, so how much are they going to charge me for holding the PS. Isnt there a different price for adult vs. child (plus one child is only 2, so I dont have to pay for him)?
How do they figure this out when its time to pay the bill, should I bring my credit card receipt? Maybe I will call back and ask later today.

Thanks!!

I have a reservation for 5 - 3 adults, 1 child and an infant for the end of July. They've already charged my card $35, which means $10 per adult and $5 for the child, with no charge for the infant.

I'd call back and confirm what they are charging your card. In some ways it doesn't matter because after you've actually eaten the meal they'll calculate the total and then subtract what you paid for a deposit. Then you'll be charged the difference, or if there is a credit due they'd post it to your credit card account. If it were me, however, I'd be uncomfortable not knowing what I was charged so I'd call and see. You'll need your confirmation number when you call......

I agree with marybdisney. I would call back to confirm. Congratulations and enjoy!

Definitely call back and make sure they have the correct number of adults and children. My guess is they have charged your card for 6 adults. Either way, I would make sure they have the correct info.

I would call back and confirm too! When I got through this morning I was stunned for a moment as well. I was offered an early time for August 18 and when I hesitated, the CM asked me what time I was looking for. When I told her I wanted as late a ps as possible, she gave me 10:20 and I took it. She asked me how old each child in our party will be. There are 4 of us (including a one year old and a five year old). She told me my card would be charged a $10 deposit for each adult and a $5 deposit for the 5 year old so a total of $25. Then she gave me my confirmation number. I almost still can't believe I got this breakfast. I've been trying for two years worth of trips and finally got through!

The guy I had must have been new or something because he didnt tell me anything. Didnt mention how much my card would be charged, didnt mention to bring my PS# to be able to get in the park before it opens etc.
Luckily I new almost everything from the boards!

I just called Disney Dining, after waiting on hold for 25 minutes I was able to tell them the PS is for 3 adults, 2 children and one infant and they re-charged my credit card correctly.
Now unfortunately, I will have a huge phone bill. Oh well, I am just happy I got the PS :)

OH PLUS...I call my husband to tell him of all this, and he says..."Well, I really didnt want to go to the Castle to eat again " :(

ARGH! Sorry, buddy, you have been out voted by me and your two daughters!! Plus all the trouble I went through to get a PS, he is going!! ;)

Sounds to me like WDW Dining was having some phone problems this morning. Lucky you, because it seems, you were able to get Cindy's without too much trouble. I am guessing the "dead air" was supposed to be the normal message but there was a glich in the system.

Tell your DH to enjoy the breakfast and smile at the Princesses. ;)

Well done - Hope you all have a great time!!

I'm glad you got your PS.:D I'm getting ready for all this stress myself. Monday morning will be the big day. It must feel like trying to win something on a radio station with all that redialing.;)

Good luck grinningghost!
It wasnt as bad as I thought.
Definately learn the difference in the open (Thank you for calling the Disney Reservation..." and the closed (Thank you for calling Disney Dining..." messages! And start calling 5 minutes prior to opening, although when I called they didnt open the phone lines until exactly 7:00 a.m.
I was surprised at how quickly I got through and no being on hold.
Learn from my mistake and make sure you say number of adults and children. It was more of a hassle to call and get that all straightened out than to make the PS!!!
