Got BWV add-on, wondering if I should cancel.

I luckily got a BWV add-on, but need help convincing myself that the extra points are worth being really, really short some money for a few months.

Other things for our home I wanted/needed to buy, but won't be able to if I proceed with bwv add-on.

How do you feel about points? How many is enough? Am I becoming obsessed?

Help, please.

One can never have enough DVC points! I started with 270 OKW points and recently added on with 200 Vero Beach points. Would love more some day....

A1A1, I've been asking myself the same questions! It is addicting. I don't think you'll find anyone here who will tell you what to do, only wish you well in your decision making.
I have been on the wait list too and thought that the chances for that were gone once we hit April. Did they just call you? What use year were you offered? I hope you don't mind my asking. We are thinking about adding on at HH since the wait list has not come through for us. Actually, I am wanting to and dh is resisting!

I got the call a couple of weeks ago, but they ran out of the public offering statements, etc, so they had to wait to send contract.

Use year is April, and was on the list from end of January, I think.

The reason I am struggling a bit now, is that I added on with HH points in January. Did that before I got on the waitlist, because I didn't think I had a snowballs chance in H*LL of getting a BWV add-on. Since I just paid cash for that add-on, it set me back. Now I will be set even further back with this other add-on. I guess if I go through with this it will be painful for a while, then I won't add-on for a long time.

My decision is based on whether or not I can survive on the points I already have, and whether I will get really tired of WDW sometime and regret all these points. Plus, I'd like to make some home improvements this summer. That would make things really tough.

Those home improvements just roll on by, one after another! We have considered having dh's paycheck forwarded straight to Home Depot! They just never seem to end. DH keeps me in check with the points issue with this: How many times in one year do you think we can go to WDW?
Of course, my counter argument is: Look at it as an investment! I can really appreciate where you are coming from as I was just sitting here going over the numbers in great detail (just to try and prove dh wrong, of course ) It isn't looking too good, though... <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face">

spoke with my guide about adding on, but he told me that BWV was sold out. (He had called to tell me that it was close to being sold out a couple of months prior, but I wasn't ready then)

I added on through him, via telephone. He made all the arrangements and had the paperwork sent to me.

If you want to add on to your original points contract and were satisfied with your sales experience and guide for the first contract, start by calling MS and asking to speak with your previous sales "guide". They will transfer you to that person. BWV and OKW are both sold out, so you won't be able to get those points in small amounts through DVC MS, but you could purchase a larger amount of 150+ points of BWV or OKW through a resale. You could click the timeshare store icon at the top of this page. HH, VWL, and VB are still available through DVC, so you could buy a small add-on. Hope this helps...

It's great that your add-on points came through! If I remember right, A1A1, you have the same guide that I do. (Kim, right?) He helped me get those BWV add-ons by way of a waiting list too. He's great.

Isn't it lousy that financial realities have to interfere with our endless pursuit of those DVC points??

I hope that it all works out for you, and that you can go ahead with peace of mind. And, if not, I'm sure that there are plenty of takers out there who would love to take those add-ons off your hands!
