Got both Illuminations and Fishing crusies????

Hi,

I was lucky to get both the Illuminations Celebration Cruise and Fishing Excursion for our upcoming Thanksgiving Trip.

I have a question about tipping. Do you tip the driver/guide? If so how much. Is it 15 to 20% like a waiter/waitdress?

Depending on the driver, we usually tip 15-20% of the amount before tax. We are also doing a fishing excursion. Just booked it today at my 90 day mark. Are going to try fishing the DTD area this time to see how the fish are biting. Tomorrow I am going to try to book a Wishes Cruise so we will see on that one. But, before when we did the Illuminations Cruise the Capt. was wonderful! He brought blankets, hot chocolate, and was a great conversationalist. (Our cruise wasn't to include any beverage and it was chilly) We tipped 25% as he also had brought a stuffed animal to give to my son. It was worth every cent to see his expression when the captain pulled that out just for him. Five years later my son still has that monkey he gave to him.

Thanks for the feedback. We are going to be doing the Illuminations Cruise on Nov 19th and it is a member of our party's 41st birthday that day and I wanted to do something special as she was not able to have a special 40th b-day due to some major personal issues. I have booked a "celebration" cruise that they said will include non-alcoholic drinks and snacks and they will also decorate the boat. I am going to call the private dining number they gave me to see about a cake.

On Thanksgiving morning the "guys" in our group are going to be doing the DTD fishing excursion. We are staying at POR so it is very convient as they are going to be picked up at the POR marina.

Us "girls" are doing breakfast at Boatwright's and then onto the Spa.

We arrive on Thanksgiving Day and are going to do the Fishing Excursion on Friday in the DTD area, also. We will be at POFQ. Maybe we will run into each other.
