just got back from universal studios hollywood two days ago. Put all the pets the cat and two dogs in a board kennel pet place for two weeks, the dogs are fine since they are bro and sis and have been to the kennel three times now. My cat who is a snowshoe mix was not happy we left him based on his breed he is a one on one cat meaning he does not like that many people he talks but this is worst now he has not stopped he crys like he is looking for something and I do not know what to do?

My cat does that every time we go away for more than a few days. The longer we are gone, the worse it is. eventually she stops. We just give her lots of attention.
We don't board her, we have someone check on her every few days when we are gone. I think its just their way of saying they aren't happy with you. Sleep with one eye open LOL

Maybe put a call in to your vet before they close today to see if this is something they've ever heard of, too? Does he seem to be in any pain? Or is he just protesting that you left him? Wish I knew more about cats but I don't.

no he is not he pain when we left him home for a week during christmas he was not happy but this is like he is ranting none stop. i wonder if is because their was another cat in the room has him they were in different cages that also talked when someone would walk in that he got use to it.

yep which is why wen we did the three week trip this past summer in the rv he went with us maybe it will get better soon the only good thing out of this is he is spending more time up stairs then in the basement were we being him and him sleep, chill ect.

My Luna kitty does this and our Shelby kitty did this before her. They don't like when we leave and grouse about it when we get back. Shelby would start crying the moment the suitcases came out. Luna just complains once we get home. We just give her extra attention and she stops on her own.

My cat does the same thing when we are gone for a week or two. We don't board her, our DD stops daily to check on her and scoop the litter, etc. She is very vocal for a day or two but eventually stops. She isn't mad though, as the minute I sit down she wants to be on my lap. I think she's just happy we are home and is letting us know.

I have gone away for a few days before. A friend came by every day and checked on her. However, she meowed like the day I got back, and about half the day the next day. I guess she missed me.

My cat does it too and settles down after a day. He just wants me to know he's not happy that I left. I'm luckier than my sister. Her cat pooped on her bed to show her what he thought of her leaving.

We were gone for 2 weeks and left our cats at home with someone checking on them. One of them didn't stop "talking/yelling for a good 3 months or so. It took him 4 or 5 months to purr again. It was crazy.

My cat is like that for a day or two after we come home. But I would also take her to the vet...my cat was howling for days and it was actually a thyroid issue. They put her son some meds and she calmed down pretty much right away.

My cats get sullen and quiet for about 2 days when we get back, and then there are about 2 days of grousing and telling us off.

OP, has your cat settled down now that you've been back for a bit?

My cat just does this for fun sometimes. Like a person, she feels like talking. She is super obnoxious about it. 3 a.m. "RAAAOOOWWWW" ..."MMRRRAAAOW"
"MRR...OWW"
She is so loud she wakes the whole house up. Then once we are all out of the beds fussing about the noise....she sneaks into our bed and falls sound asleep like nothing happened.
But she is Siamese so this behavior is typical.

Our cat used to do this for about an hour after we got back from holiday. She just wanted to know where we had been and why we were not there to feed her (note: family came in to feed instead) or pet her. I still miss her.

My calico does this too. It's sometimes so loud I think she's hurt but she just looks at me like "what are you doing up" when I turn on the light.

well things work out in funny ways kenji will have a play mate soon my dad found a cat 4 days ago at the parking lot of the gas station all alone it jumped in his truck under the spear wheel and would not come out. So he went to les swaib and the found the kitten he is how ours my dad named him tyler after the guy who helped get him out. He is all grey his eyes might turn green he is only a month old the vets think he is 5 to 6 weeks he is fine. Right now he has seen kenji trough a puppy cage that is were we keep tyler or as he been called the baby he loves kenji every time kenji comes int he room he will paw his blaket like he would his mom and today he got close to the bars and started rolling over and reach his little paws through, I kicked kenji out when kenji tried to get his paws through which he can the puppy cage is his long car trip cage cause kenji is 16 pounds. So by christmas we will have a young tree clawing kitten yay.
