I just so happened to be browsing Disney dining last night (again  LOL) and I have been wanting to find a Rainforest Cafe adr for that night since it is our last night I wanted the kids to experience it. I haven't been able to get Rainforest Cafe BUT, I scored a T-Rex ADR.

Now, months ago I completely ignored T-Rex not knowing anything about it.

So, T-Rex is like Rainforest Cafe but even better? Anyone have any comments on it? It is a bit pricier.

My dd and I love it! Of course, she loves dinosaurs too, so that helps. We've been to both and she'd choose it every time. It had been a couple of years since we've been to RC, and loved T-Rex's food much better, but it seems that both restaurants have similar menus now. I say this because last year the guy I dated at the time and I went to the RC in Nashville and I was shocked to see a lot of the same items. The bartender said that they were slowly changing the menu over.

The restaurants are owned by the same company and are quite similar. With Rainforest you get a rainstorm and noisy jungle animals. With T-Rex you get noisy dinosaurs and a meteor shower every 20 mins. We prefer the dinosaurs, actually. Probably because there aren't as many T-Rex restaurants as there are Rainforest Cafes.

LOVE T-REX! The food seems fresher than Rainforest. I look forward each time to the tomato soup and the fish tacos! Yum... If you're getting the dessert platter, be sure to leave room! It's HUGE!

We love Trex.. I know same company owns them but we feel food has been consistently better at Trex..

I am planning a 2012 vacation with my niece and her three children, one of which will be under 3. My plans include DeDDP, how does the dining work for the >3, do they eat from our plates or what?

I agree that the food is much better at T-Rex. The tomato soup is fantastic. I"ll probably never do Rainforest again!

From what I saw, T-Rex doesn't accept DDP. Please, if I am wrong, someone correct me. I would love to take the kids there but don't want to pay OOP.

If you are just asking in general, I can't really answer. Our trip will be our first as a family and our youngest will be 4 1/2.

I don't think TRex accepts any type of DDP but you should double check.

As for the restaurant, it has become a "must do" for us. The food and service has been consistently excellent. My younger son has some severe food allergies and the chefs there have been equal to the best ones I've encountered at Disney restaurants - just fantastic. I've never felt rushed through the meal either.

Be sure to visit all the rooms while waiting on your meal and take some pics!:thumbsup2

IMO T-Rex is much better than RFC. I think the food selection is bigger, and the food itself is better.

We find the food pretty much the same. But T-rex wins with the dinos! RFC is looking a little old after seeing T-rex! OMO!!

We have been doing T-Rex since it opened every time we go! We love it.

IMHO, as we have RFC at home, the T-Rex wins. :goodvibes

We are on DDP but paying OOP for T-Rex on next trip. DD(4) wants to eat at RFC because we have a few times and she has a very good memory, especially of Disney. Going to tell her all about T-Rex though and see if she'll make the switch because I know she'll want at least one of them. Have heard food is better but sometimes wonder if the "new" factor comes into play but we'll see. Have always enjoyed RFC and thought food was good despite some bad reviews.
