Got the following PIN today:
Save 40% at Select Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts
(30% at Disney's Beach Club Villas)
Save 35% at Select Disney Deluxe Resorts
(25% at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa)
Save 30% at Select Disney Moderate Resorts
(15% at Disney's Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter)
Save 25% at Select Disney Value Resorts
(15% at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort)
For stays most nights 1/2–4/16/11 & 5/1–6/5/11

It covers my travel dates, so now I'm not sure what to do.
We currently are booked at the Swan with the AAA discount of 188/night.
I realize there is the resort fee on top of this, and out of necessity, we'll have a car, so we'd have to pay for parking at the Swan as well.
I really like the idea of being so close to Epcot and DHS.
But...we could get Standard View at WL for total of $1664 or a studio at OKW for $1620 (six nights)

I got the same PIN e-mail this morning, and I was SOOOOO excited! Then I read the dates and realized it expires just before my trip. Sigh...I guess I have to keep waiting.

How do you get these pins???? Do you have to sign up or something or are they just sent to you if you have booked a Disney vacation?? I am going in Jan, maybe this is why I'm not getting any pins???:confused3

It sounds like the Swan would still be cheaper; right? I think it's $10 resort fee and $10 parking fee. Is that correct? If so....$208 x 6 is $1248. I absolutely loved the location of that resort. Being able to walk to two parks was awesome. I would stick with what you have.

Yeah, the Swan is still cheaper, even with the tax, resort fee, and parking.
Still, this offer is mighty tempting. (Of course, that's what Disney wants me to think, right?)

I received the same pin this morning... It is within my travel dates!! Can I use this room only percent off, along with free dining? How do you you choice for your family? What are the guidelines for saving a little bit?
I think for my family free dining works better. But I am a rookie at this planning!!
Just trying to see which will benefit us in the long run... I sure wish I knew some of the tricks, you guys know on here!!
:thumbsup2 to those of you that get incredible deals!!

Thanks

As far as I know you can only use one discount! Bummer I know. You need to figure out about how much your family would spend on food and see if the Free Dining would be better for you. I personally don't like the free dining b/c it doens't save my hubby and I much money. The room discounts saves us more money plus it allows us to upgrade to a better resort. All you have to do is price out your room without the discount code and then with and see how much money are you actually saving if it is more the food then go with room discount, if not go with Free dining. Hope that helps and doesn't confuse you any :)

That's kind of my dilemma, even if I do end up getting an awesome PIN code for my dates.

I made a reservation this morning at the Dolphin using the educator rate. My total WITH taxes, resort fees, and parking comes to $802.12 for our 4-night stay. My original reservation for the BWI would be $1,605...DOUBLE the cost of staying at the Dolphin!:scared1: At this point, I would have to get a 40% PIN to make me think about switching back to the Boardwalk.

I think I will end up keeping the Dolphin reservation, and using the $803 I save to have some nice meals and wine!:cool1: If we stayed at the BWI we were going to do the DxDDP. We'll still eat at signature restaurants for dinner and do TS for lunch, but we'll eat the way we normally do...split appetizers and desserts, light breakfasts, etc. The difference will be that we'll have to put all our expenses on a credit card...but the trade off is now I have no reason not to try Shula's and Il Mulino!:yay:

Do you get Extra Magic Hours when staying at the Dolphin/Swan ?

Yes, you get EMH and have access to Disney transportation. You aren't eligible for the dining plan, can't use Magical Express, and you will only be able to charge to your room at the resort...not in the parks or at WDW owned properties.

Got the same code this afternoon and saved another $1000. We are staying at the Poly club level 5/14 to 5/21, dining plan, and 5 day park hopper tickets. Our new total came to $5408.52:yay:

Yes. Exactly what they want you to think. Personally, I would keep it and just use the extra $$ for spending (or bank it). You can still get packages delivered to your resort as well.

Where are you staying and how many are in your family? Typically, the % off discount ends up working in your favor staying in deluxe or higher. If you are staying in value the free dining ends up working out to your favor. For moderates, you really have to do the math. Figure out what your % off would be and see if your family can eat for that or less. Allears.net has some menus. I look at the menus and add up what my family would typically eat. It's not always available but you may be able to do the % discount at a studio where you have a microwave and sink and can heat up some leftovers and meals. If you want to let me know your trip specifics I would be happy to number crunch for you.

You are correct. Discounts cannot be combined. With more people, the free dining tends to be a better "deal". All depends on where they are staying and how many people in the party.

After spending an entire year trying to get a PIN, I got this one today. On the one hand, I'm glad that I finally got one. But on the other hand, I'm kinda mad because it's not that great of a discount (for us anyway). I'm happy for those of you who saved some money on your trip, though. The PIN fairy works in mysterious ways...

i got the exact same PIN today, to my old e-mail address, the one that I told Disney was not in use anymore........I had them change all of my info over to my new e-mail address, but so far, I have received two PINs in this month alone to my OLD e-mail address..... And nothing to my new e-mail!!!!

I guess I should be grateful I got them at all.:rotfl:

I call after reading this thread, and I have two pins associated with my name. One was for free dining, & the other one was for room discount with traveling dates of 10/10 thru 12/25. I already have free dining for Memorial Day week. I would like to a discount for the thrid week in May instead of Memorial Day week.

You do need to be in their system,- disney destinations-. Thats who sends me the e-mail....www.vacation@registration.disneyworld.com , thats who sends me my PIN codes. But they keep sending it to my old address, even though I have updated in their system, they never send me a PIN to my new e-mail....

If you are not in the system from having been in one of their hotels, then that is how you get into it. Then, if you still do not receive a PIN, call them and ask if there is a PIN associated with your name.

hmm I should be in their system. What number do you call to see if you have a PIN???

Thanks! I just got a new job (I haven't started yet. Waiting for them to call me about orientation) so now I can afford POFQ (my boyfriend is paying for his half, plus his park tickets and airfare so that will help), but it would be nice to get some sort of discount.
