but we are excited about camping and the tent and the golf cart and EVERYTHING! we have never camped befor and were all looking forward to it but now that iv got the free dinning pin pop is about 400 plus cheaper than camping!....if it were yall would you take pop and the savings of that money or would you camp.....we love pop a lot to and would have a good time there to.....im just torn now and we leave feb 2!:confused3

Do what you really want. There are seasons for everything.

Who says you have to stay torn....do both, in time! We are skipping free dining, we did get a couple pins, but my kids love the atmosphere of the fort more.

And I did do spreadsheet upon spreadsheet, and for us, free dining is tempting, as in, no work for me, but really, truly costs us more, because we eat differently when camping, even at Disney, than we do in a hotel room. And we camp for reasons more than economics, though that's a great one, with so many.

You aren't abandoning anything, or betraying your 'camp at the Fort' character, only choosing between wonderful choices!

plus free dinning is quick service and we wanted to eat at garden grill and trex cafe and several others....free dinning might not be such a good deal after all!...and plus i wanted the kids to see the fort!!!!!!!

I'm a budget kind of girl so yes I would take the pop deal with QS dining and pay for TS meals out of pocket.

You could stay at Pop, but plan a day or half a day to go to the Fort with the kids. We went to the Fort 3 times on our last trip (we stayed off property). We were MH shopping at the time and wanted to get a feel for Ft Wilderness.

OP, just be aware that if you are not a registered camper, you will have to take an internal bus, or the boat to get inside the campground. They will stop you at the entrance with a car. :goodvibes

I would suggest taking the $400 cheaper option of free dining at Pop Century, and while at the POP spending $100 of the savings to camp for two nights at Fort Wilderness (another $120 if you add a golf cart for two days). This would involve a two-night reservation at FtW sometime during your reservation at POP. You would still have your main hotel room at POP and would not have to move over all of your stuff, just your camping stuff. You could enjoy your day of check-in, full second day, and day of check-out at the Fort.

Just an idea. :)

We drove over in our car and told security we wanted to rent a sea racer. She let us right in.

this isn't even a question,right?:rotfl2::lmao: for the Pop deal! that way when it rains, you'll have a roof over your head! use that savings to pay for a couple of TS meals, and ride over and visit the fort for a day,it's a great place to visit!
We love to camp, and we love Disney, but I personally prefer to do them separately anyway,so that's my opinion:rotfl: I love Pop also...it's so fun! I would NEVER spend more to work hard and sleep in a tent than to have maid service and free food, plus a solid roof over my head......;)

We take our bikes to the Fort on our car and have never had a problem getting in. Security is very polite and helpful. During a summer holiday we may have to park at WL because of space. Wanted to ride so from WL to the Fort is always enjoyable.

We got a free dining/pin offer too but I round filed it since I'm headed to the Fort - I will always choose the Fort over a hotel/motel resort.

Oddly, though, the offer was addressed to one of my kids (who lives at this address and has been listed on past ressies) but I thought it should go to the guy who pays the bills and make the go/no-go decision. :lmao: whatever.

Wow, so much for security, I really didn't know that

Not talking about you, just in general (thought you had to be registered to gain access by car to the cc.)

We visited 3 times in all, they let us in each time, 2 car loads the last time. Our first visit, my DH told them we were MH shopping and wanted to check out the Ft. The second time we rented sea racers, the 3rd day a pontoon boat.

It is the same at the other resorts as well. We had a chef Mickey reservation, all they asked us was what time, then let us through, and we went to the Yatch Club for a fishing excursion.

At each gate they asked for ID, but didn't write anything down, just looked at it and waved us through.
