My
travel agent, Cissy
cissywdwtravel@aol.com was able to score me free dining. Yea CISSY !!!
At first they turned me down, but she worked some magic and got it.
I don't know if this had anything to do with us getting a PIN code, but it came in my wife's name which up until this past month hasn't been the one the Disney junk mail comes to, so I think what I did worked.
I created a new e-mail address for my wife, then I went out to Disney's website and looked at room package rates for our travel dates after creating her as a new user on their website. I set out about 3 different hotel options for the same dates and saved them. About 3 nights later I went in and made some minor modifications (with and without dining, regular and quick service, one extra day on park tickets, etc) Then I saved those offers, but didn't act on them. I logged in one more time after that to look at the offers, then jumped from their website directly to Universal's. After that, I never logged back on to their website with her newly created user ID.
Interestingly enough, Universal sent me a mailer the same day Disney's PIN code offer came through. Probably coincidence, because it was in my name, not my wife's but interesting nonetheless.
