Got a phone call while on Big Thunder Mountain & did not answer it

Tonight I was at the Magic Kingdom with some of my friends from the Orlando area & a friend who was visiting from the Boston area. Anyway when we were on Big Thunder Mountain, my cell phone was ringing. I knew it was because I have it set to vibrate & ring at the same time. I did the smart thing & did not pick up because I knew that would have been a stupid idea. Anyway I was wondering if you were ever on Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Moutain Tower Of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster or any major ride at WDW, has your cell phone ever rang & you knew you could not answer it?

When my friend and I went on our Mommy only weekends (Feb. and May) my equally Disney obsessed DFiance would call me every time he got a chance. I wouldn't answer on rides or in queues, but I'd answer if I was just walking around.. It was hilarious, he wanted to know where I was, what I'd ridden, what I was about to ride, what type of music was playing, what we'd eaten that day.. etc. It was like he was with us, but more annoying. :rotfl:

So you're asking if we've ever gotten a phone call and not answered it? Why on earth would you care?
1st off all why are you trying to flame me, or are you trying to do this? :stir: Anyway I asked if you ever got a phone call while on a major WDW ride, but you knew that there was no way you could answer it? So I suggest reading everything that I said before stating your opinion.

Oh for goodness sake, it was just a silly question. I know the OP is one of those people that starts controversial threads, but there's no need to make this into one. :goodvibes

Dumb question - what does OP stand for? Is there a thread with all these abbreviations? Very hard to decipher sometimes. But I like the challenge. :confused3

OP stands for origional poster.

Lost my cell phone on BTMRR a couple weeks ago. Luckily, the CMs were able to find it!

whew!

We always shut ours off in the parks unless we are waiting for something that is park related (such as the party split up and one half is now looking for the other half). Regardless, they're on vibrate no matter what (nothing so annoying as being on a ride and listening to someone's ringtone) and we never answer them in a queue or on a ride.

I'm on vacation - I turn my cell phone OFF!!!

I do understand why people need to leave them on - to keep in touch with kids, meeting up with friends, etc. - I also believe they should always be kept on vibrate and not answered on rides. I have had ride experiences ruined by people talking on cell phones on the ride, namely The Great Movie Ride, where another rider chatted on the phone all the way through. I think many of us would appreciate cell phones being on vibrate. :sunny:

I was with someone(college student) who was waiting for his parents to arrive and his mother called just before takeoff on Rockin' Rollar Coaster. He answered the phone (its in the picture) but quickly got off it. Even the person sitting with him didn't realize he actually talked with his mom until after the ride. He was very quiet.

Last year, my boss called me in the beginning of the week. Frankly, with all the noise at WDW, I didn't hear the phone. I didn't notice that he had called until the end of the week. He still brings it up, :sad2:

Yes..

I'm trying to figure out why a 21 year old Canadian boy would be carrying his cellphone with him at WDW. Since Canadian cellphones are on a system entirely their own the roaming charges and per minute charges in the United States are outrageous.

this past july i went to the world with a very large group of people consisting of most of my parents, brother and all of my moms side of the family and also my bf. we would often split up with the intentions of meeting together so we always kept our cell phones on us but on vibrate bc frankly its so noisy you wouldn't be able to hear it ring anyway. well...i was on soaring...i didn't think i got any service since i know i don't in the waiting area. well i found out that when your up there in the theater soaring over california that i have service bc my phone started vibrating in my pocket and scared me enough to make me scream. my dbf was laughting histerically at me. it was quite funny and something i told everyone when we met up later. they thought it was rathar funny as well... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If you have voice mail why would it be necessary to answer it?

If you answer it on something like Big Thunder you are liable to lose it anyway.
