Just returned from travel agent, all paid up :thumbsup2

I then text my mum and told her holiday is paid, her reply was "your grandma has said dad can not go to Florida as he has had a heart attack"

Bearing in mind his heart attack was 2002.

Can he travel?

I'm no medic but that doesn't sound right to me. Sounds more like nerves on your Mums part. I would suggest he sees his GP for a check up and sound advice. Ask him to take your Mum with him to the appointment so if it is all good news she can hear it from the expert herself and not have to rely on your Dad to give her the full info. He may have to shop around for his travel insurance and pay more for it though!

Both mum and dad have both got disabilities to start with, and she managed to get holiday insurance for mexico before I changed the destination.

I have got my fingers, and toes crossed that they can swop destination for a small fee.

I'm sure my gdma got her wires crossed somewhere. :)

It should be fine DH Dad had a heart attack year ago and has travelled to the US several times since - just check the warning signs on the rides :thumbsup2

My Dad has not only had heart attacks, but has also had a quadruple coronary artery bypass graft operation. He has since travelled to Florida many times. The only issue for him is that getting good travel insurance is now more expensive.

I have no personal experience but I would agree that the only potential 'issue' is travel insurance. Make sure the heart attack is declared and noted on your paperwork.

I agree he will be fine to travel but please make sure he has adequate travel cover - it will cost more but if you shop around you should get some cover for him.

Enjoy your hols.

:thumbsup2Sorted, however it cost £130 extra for the two week trip. So over £200 for mum n dad one trip cover :scared1:

But you have peace of mind now. It would have cost you a whole lot more without the adequate cover in place should you need medical treatment for any reason. Have you ever seen a private medical bill? :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I had the misfortune of seeing my DD's medical bill for an ear infection - it cost $10 just for her pulse to be taken!

DH said he didn't even want the doctor to check her pulse - he knew she was alive, it was just her ear that hurt!

I think for peace of mind it's money well spent and probably only a small percentage of the total cost of the holiday.
