I called on Monday which was my 90+10 ADR date trying to book Mama Melrose + Fantasmic. I wanted it for the Thursday of our trip, 5 days in - no go but I could get Brown Derby. I didn't want to use 2TS credits for it so passed. There was nothing for Mama Melrose or Hollywood & Vine for the whole 9 days. Later I thought I should have taken Brown Derby and called back but it was gone. DS and to a lesser extend DD really want to see Fantasmic, but DH and I really don't want to line up for 2 hours for it.

I decided to call back today and see if, since it is the exact 90 day they might have released more seats. So I set my alarm and got up and dialed at 6:59:20 again. And I got lucky! :yay: I did have to take Hollywood & Vine instead of Mama's but I'm ok with that (I hope). I haven't read much about it since I wasn't planning on eating there, so I guess I'll have to go look for some reviews now, but either way DS got his show.

Also, new and interesting was a message on the line this morning that told me the approximate wait time. I was connected right at 7 and the message said my estimated wait would be 6 minutes. They were exactly right. That will be great for people who have somewhere to be and don't want to hang up because they could be the next call, at least now at the start you have some idea how long you'll wait.

The system automatically cancelled my 50's PTC that I had for that day when this one was booked, so I guess that prevents people from double booking and then deciding later which to cancel.

Good for you! Those ADR's at MM are very elusive. I tried for months and never got one on my trip, but we did check the day we were there and there was a last minute cancellation, but we passed as we didnt want to forego our Kona Cafe reservation. ANyhow enjoy, if you have not seen Fantasmic, it is spectular!

Congratulations!! :cool1: I was told there were no Fantasmic Packages - when I called....hmmm....maybe I should try again, too.:confused3

Thanks for the advise. I'm on the phone right now-that is the date we wanted too. We have a MM for that date, but not the package. It was sold out when I called Tues. I"ll keep trying everyday if this doesn't work out.

We ate at Hollywood and Vine on March 11, with the Fantasmic package, we had a 3:30 reservation for 6. The food was very good, and hot. I admitt I tried to call and change this ressie several times due to the bad reviews I have read, but I am very happy I did not because this turn out to be a great buffet and one of our favorites. (we did not care for CM for dinner, maybe just a bad night, we will probably try it again, but next time for breakfast)

My F!DP is for 4pm for H&V. I thought that was insanely early, but oh well.

Congrats!! I work the Disney Dining line and I can tell you those are hard to find right now.

Thanks summer, natalie and singinglizzie; this was one show my kids REALLY wanted to see - glad to hear how great it is lizzie.

mom2/4 - I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the food at H&V. It wasn't one I had really considered - I think because we were already doing several character buffets, but great to hear!

dansamy - I also though 3:30 was waaaaaaay too early, but just figure we'll go with it and use a snack credit before the show. Now I have to re-think my park strategy, though. I had intended to get in early, leave by early afternoon and come back for dinner and the show. Not sure how we'll arrange it now.

disneyqueen - Did you get your package? I hope it worked out for you!

dbprimeaux - I was told they were really hard to get also, in fact the CM I spoke to this morning did a little cheer right along with me - she was so surprised one came up. I had also been told Monday to keep trying leading up to our trip but especially the week of the date you want since the cancellation is 48 hrs to avoid a charge. Good luck!

cascarlet - I spoke to a Scarlet on Monday when I did the original ADRs. If that was you, you were FANTASTIC!! And as of today, I now have everything I wanted and within 30 minutes of my first choice; with the exception of Le Cellier, but that was really a toss up with that or Tutto and we got Tutto instead. You all do a great job! I have spoken to three dining CM's this week and all were outstanding!

we did Hollywood & Vine F! package last May - and we enjoyed the food & the service. It was noisy, but what Disney buffet is not?

That's too bad disneyqueen. I hope you get lucky if you keep trying. Looks like we will be at CBR around the same time. We are going from June 21-29. Have you reached the end of your 90 + 10 yet? If not, maybe keep trying at 7am each day trying for an ADR for exactly 90 days. Thats assuming it doesn't mess with any other adrs you already have. I'm wondering if they hold some ressies for the 90 day so that all of the good bookings don't get taken by other's +10

Great catne, thanks! That's two who have responded that they liked the food at H&V. :thumbsup2 Noisy - well I'm sure DS and DD will be happy to contribute there :rolleyes1

Is it really that difficult to see the Fantasmic show? We are going in late September and were not planning on doing the package but definitely wanted to take in the show. Do you we need to reserve a package in order to see it?

Thanks for your help!

Ktharee; my understanding is that Fantasmic used to be shown much more frequently than it is now. I think once a night? We are going in June which is considered a busy time and they still only have three shows per week. I don't know how many they will be showing in September, but I have heard of waits of two hours to see it without a package. You still have to wait with a package but inside in your seats I think and not as long as if you reserve. Hope this helps.

I've tried twice and still no package, so we're going to use our TS for lunch at 50's PT and just pick up CS and eat in the ampitheater while we wait!

I also got one this morning! :cool1:

Since the park hours aren't out for July I was unsure as to what nights Fantasmic was being shown. The CM asked what night I may be interested in it. Since we're there for over 2 weeks I had a variety of days which would've worked. The first date I gave her was July 2. She asked which restaurant I wanted and I said Mama Melrose and was willing to take any time available for a party of 7. I about hugged her through the phone when she said she had an opening at 5pm! :worship: She told me that she hadn't been able to book a MM F. package for anyone in over 2 weeks as it has been booked solid. She said it must be my lucky day! :goodvibes

I did have to try 3 different credit cards before one worked. The first 2 were declined with $0 amount. Both of these cards we use and have very little balance on them. The 3rd is actually a debit card but it went right through. Not sure why it did that...but it all worked out in the end.

By the way... I have a split ressie and the first CM I spoke to was pretty rude and wouldn't let me book anything past the first ressie which is only 1 night. So I called back and had the MOST pleasant CM I have ever dealt with. Her English was very broken but she spoke slowly and had no problem repeating things if I didn't understand her. It took us a very long time to make 7 ADR's with computer issues, language barrier, credit card issues, etc. But she was so kind and patient the entire time. :cloud9:

We got the F! package for our upcoming trip in May!! We, too, will be eating at H&V. We've eaten at MM before and didn't like it, so we figured we'd give H&V a try. Every other time we've been to HS, they showed F! every night, and this time it only shows 3 times our whole trip. F! is my absolute favorite, so the F! package was a must. And to think we almost missed it because my dad just wasn't getting it on how hard it was to "snatch" this package. :confused3

Good plan Diznee - I've heard other people talking about doing this recently, I didn't realize they would allow you to bring in food to the theater, so we got stuck on getting a dinner package and just kept at it.

Wow - 5pm Jenny!!! That's Fantasmic (heehee). I'm really excited to see this show; DH and DS are really into lasers.

I've heard mixed things about MM cajun, and we originally wanted it because of the Italian food. Since we already had booked Tony's Town Square and had taken Tutto Italia instead of Le Cellier, we were ok to try H&V. Who am I kidding we'd have taken it anyway just to get the pkg.
