We've been members since 2003 and purchased through Jim McCoy. I got a phone call this morning from, I think, Steve Wilbanks, saying that Jim is no longer with Disney and Steve is our new Guide. Did anyone else get a call saying Jim is no longer with Disney? I believe he was one of the senior guides, always very responsive, and I'm sorry to lose him.

I hope this isn't true, Jim was a great guide. we've beem members since 01 and he has always answered any question we had quickly. It might explain why I didn't recieve a letter from him when my friend just bought in as I had in the past when other friends called for information.

We had a similar experience. As I mentioned on the Scam thread, we received a call from Lisa at DVC indicating we were unguided, and if it was ok for her to assign us a guide. I requested Chris M. as our guide (he did our add on last year), and she said he was on vacation, but would get us together next week. yesterday, Chris called and left a message on our machine that he would be happy to be our guide.

There may have been a series of retirements, as our guide was Rafael. Since I requested a specific person, you may be able to as well (if you are so inclined).

We got a call saying we were being transferred to a new guide. We were with Betty P. When I asked why, no explanation other than we had been reassigned. He told me we would get a "let me introduce myself" email, but nothing yet and it has been a week. Weird.:confused3

What??? I'm going to be so sad! I loved Jim - he is our guide as well. :sad1:

We had our guide for over ten years, then suddenly, we got an e-mail or a flyer with a different guide listed a few years ago. Our former guide was cutting back on her clients or so he told us when he called about a year ago asking if we wanted to buy more points.

I'm going to call Member Services tomorrow just to confirm Jim is no longer there. When I went back to look at my caller ID, it listed Disneyland Resort as the caller. Seems strange that someone from California would be a guide for WDW. :confused3

Guides are guides. Our guide is in Anaheim, but we bought Bay Lake from him.

Jim is our guide also - and as of yet no phone call to us saying he has left.

NOOOOOO! Say it isn't so! We love Jim! We bought in 2003 (after 2 years of going back-and-forth) and have done several add-ons since then, most recently this past March. He's absolutely wonderful.

Let us know what you find out.

I spoke with Member Services today just to confirm the call I received yesterday was legitimate. We have been reassigned to a new guide. The person I spoke with today said she didn't have any information regarding Jim. He was still a guide as of 4/30 but she didn't have any other information.

Jim is our guy too, but haven't heard any news about a change. We're new members and I haven't had to talk to Jim much, but my interaction with him was great and I've heard nothing but good things about him. :)

I was just wondering if anyone called MS about Jim McCoy? He was my guide as well and was great to work with!

Talked to my new guide today. He said if a member isn't contacted within two years, the computer assumes there is a concern and reassigns the account. He said this ensures members aren't left hanging if a guide is busy and unable to touch base with them.

After hours, I called Jim's number which still directed me to his voicemail. So, I assume he is still a DVC guide.

I don't think that would necessarily be that meaningful (but I wish/hope it was) - it could just be that they are having someone else pick up his voice mail but haven't changed it yet. I left one office at the end of April and my voice mail message was still there for at least a month or more because the phone guys hadn't gotten around to changing the phone number. A number of people actually left me messages there they told me.

Let us know if he calls you back or what happens!
