Got a call about an add-on at OKW!!!

A few months ago I called my guide to get information on add-ons. She put us on a wait list for a small add-on at OKW. Well, she called yesterday & said we could add on as little as 25 points for cash & 50 points with financing in our use year!!!!

DH gave the "OK" on the small cash add-on, which I was pushing for. Now I'm just waiting for my guide to return my phone call.

I'm so excited - I know it's not a ton of points, but I figure if we can add on occassionally for cash that eventually we'll be able to get our 2 weeks in a 2BR at peak times!!!

BTW - do you think these points that became available were from contracts that Disney bought back through ROFR? How do they all of a sudden have points in certain use years if OKW is sold out?

I would almost gurantee that it is from ROFR buybacks. I think that is the other unknown here on the ROFR. Does Disney look at the lenght of the waitlist for a certain use year and include that in their decision?

I can not believe how easy it was. My guide called me back this afternoon, I asked a few questions, told her I wanted the 25 pts. for cash, did the transaction, the points will be in my account tomorrow & they will Fed Ex all the documents to us for our signatures. It almost seemed too easy.

We don't need to use the points right now, I just wanted some extras because contrary to what DH believes, I don't think we bought enough in our initial purchase. I told my guide to put us back on the waitlist & if something else small comes up within the next year or so to call us again. I figure if I can work DH I can convince him to buy small increments for cash every so often.

I'm so excited just to have the extra 25 points. Now I'm in that category of "haven't had our first trip home yet and already did an add-on"!!! (small add-on )

Glad to hear your success story. We're on a waiting list for an OKW add-on as well. What's your use year? Ours is June. No call for us yet.

Our use year is February. We were only on the wait list for about 6 weeks, so I was really surprised to get the call. Hope your waitlist comes through soon.

That is very good news MELSMICE!.... For us!! We are also on the waiting list for February use year for OKW. I have been on the list for about 4 weeks now. Hopefully ours will come in soon.

Great news MELSMICE. Last April 2002 I called my guide to do a small add on at OKW (Feb UY) and when she called back she said nothing available but she'd put me on the waiting list. After 2 weeks I called her back to say just add me to VWL and before I could say ..... she said "glad you called, the 50 points you wanted at OKW is available to you" - so I said "can I have 75" and guess what, I got it.

So magic can happen.
