Got a BW view 2 bdrm at 7 months

congrats! That makes me feel better about our chances of getting a boardwalk view studio at 7 months in July. will be calling in a little over a week.

Good for you;) I have always been lucky at the 7 month mark when booking in July, I was able to get a 2 br at BCV 2 years in a row before we bought there too.Maybe we are the only crazy ones that want to go in the heat of summer lol :rolleyes1

Despite the heat, summer is popular, as we can all imagine, due to school being out. Do I need to point that out? :)

Honestly, I've never had a problem booking anything at the 7-month window, with the exception of the new resorts. For example, when AKV was first introduced, I could not get those rooms at the 7-month window. But now, not a problem at all. Right now, BLT is still a little hard to get at the 7-month window. If I am lucky, I may still get all the nights, but sometimes I have to waitlist some of the nights.

For all other resorts, getting a room at the 7-month window is really not bad at all. In the worst case, just waitlist it. It will come through pretty quickly (in a matter of weeks).

Although we don't love July in Florida, DD and DSIL are teachers so they are limited. We have been able to get at BW view studio at 7 months I really thought a 2 bdrm would be harder. Good luck to everyone else!

We have until January to our 7 month mark, but am hoping for a 2 bedroom BW view for end of August. Either that or Kidani or BLT. This give me hope :thumbsup2

Congrats - nothing compares to BW view:cloud9:
We normally book our may trip a 7 monthe and have been able to get it; auguast has been a bit od a hit or miss.
we were on thr waitlist for the full 7 months for our last oct trip - it never came through...we'll
only use our BW points very early from now on, for the FWF

Calling tomorrow for a BW view studio. Fingers crossed. I know the one time of year when you need the 11 month window for BWV and BCV is during food and wine. That is why we added on at BWV. But calling tomorrow with our AKV points.

Congrats, OP! :cheer2: I was lucky with the BW view at 7 months in May- I was trying for BLT, and did not want to splurge on the points for a MK view, which was all that was available there- and I, too, was AMAZED BWView was available-we are all really looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

Good luck!!
I booked our oct 2011 (studio, BW view) the day after our 11 month window opened. We got the last one for most of our nights (I WL-ed 2 nights, but they came thru quickly)

You're right on about booking early for BW or STD views during F&W. 10 months from the day of arrival, we decided to go during F&W. Both cats booked out. I have to admit I was surprised.

Congrats. We've gotten the boardwalk view a couple of times at 7 months, and absolutely love the view. It's so much fun to people watch.

Thanks, this will be our first with a BW view. Can't wait!

What is the draw for the bw view. BWV is our home resort but we always go with the sv...what are we missing not going with the bw view....do you get the epcot illuminations?

it is hard to just describe BW view - it needs to be experienced to really understand the draw.
i'll try tho;)...
i wake up early, sit on the balcony to sip my coffee. the BW, lake, restaurants/jellyrolls, yc/bc, walkways, SSE and gazebo are still the sepia-grey tones of mornning, and the air near silent. in those moments, there are no people intruding on your world, and you feel like the BW is your own private piece of WDW.
after a while, you'll hear the far away sounds of laundry carts, thumping of runners on the BW, soon thereafter comes the sounds of children talking and laughing in stage whispers as their dads try to hush them, and you smell the delicious bakery scents that are drawing them in (just telling what i've seen: it's been my experience that often dad bring the kids to the bakery, while mom stays in the room...maybe watching the littliest ones...? :confused3)
the day ever so slowly gets brighter, the sun glints off angles on SSE, and the colors start deepening along with the calls of the ferries, the chatter of people, the birds cawing.
it's like waking up to WDW being recreated for you, and you alone, every day :cloud9:
at night, we like to sit on our balcony, sipping wine and discussing our favorite moments of the day. we watch as guests play the carny games, smiling along with their cheers, watch the people's antics (many look up wistfully - we've overheard some say the people who stay there are "so lucky", "must be very rich", etc.....yes, fortunate, and no, we just bought DVC)
we relax as illumination starts, fireworks bursting into color over the eiffel tower (note that you can't see the lower display - but still get a wonderful view of much of the show), while pieces of that glorious music waft over to you....what a beautiful sight to go to sleep with.

after years of going to WDW and staying in various resorts, we found there is nothing that has the ."wow." factor of BW view :cloud9:

Wow. That is a very inspiring and beautiful picture you've painted for me.

Thanks for the insight. We'll have to do the BW view next time
