I think we need more info here -- what brand Blu Ray player? Does this happen with every Blu Ray disc you're trying to play? Will it play non-Blu Ray discs, like regular DVD ones? Is this a new Blu Ray that has never worked, or is it one you had that just stopped working recently? Do you have your system connected to the internet so if it needs a firmware upgrade, it can download it? The Blu Rays that stream video from the internet often need to download a firmware update as soon as you hook them up as stuff has changed from the time they were put in the box to the time they're actually hooked up. Anyway, do post more info so we can troubleshoot more effectively with you. :)

I agree... we need a lot more information. What, exactly, are you trying to do? It almost sounds like you're talking about using online streaming, and if so, we need to know which service.

i put a blue ray movie in and it played the commericals ( for the upcoming movies ) but when i got to were it says play the movie i clicked play on the remote, and noting so i changed batteries still nothing, went up to the machine and pressed the play button. .. my blue ray is not hook up to the internet.. im exchanging it wednesday..

Does the remote have a "enter" button. With my blu-ray player I have to hit the center "enter" button to get a movie to start. The play and pause buttons only work after the movie has started.

Ours too. You have to press Enter to select anything, even playing a disc.

Yes... hit ENTER!!!

Maybe a little counter-intuitive...
Took me a minute to catch on when we first got our BluRay.
But, the <play> begins automatically when you insert the disc.
At this point, you are hitting enter to select from the different options on your screen. Make sure <PLAY MOVIE>, or whatever, is selected, and hit <ENTER> or <SELECT> to choose that option.
