I am so angry right now. Every job I have ever had, I have done well at...I am usually promoted within a few months and get great reviews.

Except this job...I just got an awful review...basically saying I gossip, dress horribly and have no respect for others...There are 3 of us in training, and I feel we are all on the same level, but they got way better scores than I did. Even with notes on the bottom of their review saying Keep up the good work.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that I am not complacent and I bring problems to their attention. I really hate it here, and that was one more nudge out the door for me. :guilty:

:grouphug: Sorry you got a bad review. All you can do is keep proving it wrong!

I just recently got a bad review (observation) for my student teaching that I'm upset about, so I know how you're feeling. Try not to focus on it -- heh, easier said than done, right?

Just as an FYI - this probably has a lot to do with it - employers can usually tell when you're unhappy, and whether you realize it or not, it does ususally affect your attitude - know this from personal experience and it forced me to find a job I LOVED! Good luck to you!

My DH did too. But it did not stop him prevent him from getting jobs and he has been teaching for 15 years since that bad review.

OP: Sorry. BTDT. It hurts no doubt about it.

Please see this as a sign from God (or whatever higher power in which you believe) that you should start looking for a different job. Even if you are fantastic, they don't appreciate you, so why waste your time there?

That would be one thing...if I got marked down for attitude...but to get 2 out of 5 in things like:

Show respect to co-workers, and internal and external customers; especially in difficult situations

People are counting on you; be at work when scheduled

Stay focused on your work; don’t waste time on gossip or nonproductive behavior

Maintain professional appearance and behavior while promoting a positive work environment

And this was my comment at the bottom:

Amanda has done very well overall in training, maintaining a 98.6% test average. She should strive to maintain focus on her work and to successfully
graduate from the training program, while also meeting attendance expectations.

I missed 2 days (legitimately sick, but was written up anyway and told if I am sick one more time than I get fired...)

I do... I know this isn't the job for me, but I am going through a divorce and can't afford to just leave a job with free health insurance....I am actively looking everyday though...

sorry that stinks
but you have HATED this job from the beginning and it probably shows alittle in your work

as for the sick thing, thats crap
hows PP? any closer to a manager job there?

sounds like its time to move on ....

I know my employer knows I am frustrated, but I am good at what I do. My whole life I have been in customer service. I complain about my training sometimes, but it's a new program so I think feedback is important. Plus I need this job so I do put effort into it. It bugs me because I really do think its malicous...maybe I am wrong though :confused3

Wow! I think I would have asked for examples of every negetive thing that you didn't agree with.
If they are going to say such terrible things, then they should be able to back it up with examples, if not then maybe they can change it.

good poitn sherry
asking for examples puts them on the spot about your supposeed gossiping and behavior

"Maintain professional appearance and behavior while promoting a positive work environment"

I would ask them point blank if this means that you dress inappropriately. That's an easy fix if it's the case. Based on the rest of the review, I'm wondering if they are more targeting your behavior?

I'd ask my supervisor if you could sit down with him/her to have a frank discussion about your review and find out exactly what the issues are.

It sounds like the supervisor might feel threatened by your "bring [ing] problems to their attention." I know that a lot of times a company knows there are issues, but for a variety of reasons chooses to not address them, and gets very bristled by a brand new employee pointing them out.

You might want to just do your job and nothing more than what you are told to do for awhile to see if things improve.

Are you the girl I work with and myself in one person? We are the newbies in the office from the North and we are exactly the same way. Since we transferred in and where kind of "forced" on them we are feeling the exact same way.
:grouphug: It's so frustrating, especially if you are in a situation where you can't make it better. (like I am)

I agree with the poster who asked to have specific examples given to you. If they don't provide an action plan for you, then how can you ever expect to succeed?

Good Luck - hang in there!

We had a temp where I used to work that we were considering hiring full time. She spent more time arguing with the way we were doing things and suggesting helpful alternatives, than she did actually doing what we told her to do. To say I felt "bristled" is an understatement, and "encouraged" me to find other things I didn't like about her performance as reasons not to hire her full time. We didn't.

I don't know if this is the case with you, but duck makes a good point. Really think about your approach. And keep looking! Good luck.

I am curious as to what type of problems and how you are reporting said problems.

Sorry to hear this!

I HATE :furious: when employee reviews include things like ....."gossip, dress horribly, no respect for other"....THAT IS JUST ONE PERSONS PERSONAL OPINION!!! This has nothing to do with what they are paying you to do!!!!

Sounds to me that whoever reviewed you is looking more for a friend then a competent employee!

Good Luck and GET OUT of there....ASAP! :thumbsup2

I have had several professional conversations with my trainer regarding problems with others in my classroom. In the beginning of training we had one woman who was computer illiterate to say the least. We had specific timed exams, which for some reason she didn't have to obide by the timing part. One exam took her 7 hours...they didn't know what to do with the rest of the class and it put our training behind. There is another woman who has a problem with me and thinks she is going to get fired (so she has a TERRIBLE attitude). She has complained about me on several occasions and of course this reflects badly on me.

They have come to me several times trying to accelerate my training because I am more advanced on computers and have way more experience. They know I am bored and I have struggled since day 1....Just not the right job for me, but no excuse for a bad review!

The woman who has a problem with me called me a loudmouth this morning...my cowokers said she came in and asked where LOUDMOUTH was....I don't get it :confused3 I obviously don't know what her review looked like, but geez!

Is it possible you're being too goody goody or prissy? I'm very anal, so I do need to check some of my irkdom at the door at work.
