Got a 40% off code but......

our vacation starts the day before the code discount starts. We are going on a disney cruise and already had in mind to do a WDW stay after the cruise. We would be checking in on Aug 22, however the 40% off code would not be in affect until Aug 23. The CM I talked to told me we could book 2 seperate packages for the stay, however we could only do room only for the first night. She said we would not get our park tickets and dining until the 23 when the package starts. Does this sound right? My kids are going to be so disappionted if we are at WDW and can not go to the parks until the next day. Any thoughts? I know we could just buy a one day ticket, but that seems kinda stupid since we would be getting muti day tickets with the package.

That is true. The promo doesnt start until the 23rd, you want to arrive on the 22nd, nothing they can do about it. Youll have to do a room only res the first night and start your package on the 23rd. If you want to go to the parks youll have to buy a separate ticket which costs quite a bit more...

On the other hand, some guests have reported being in this situation and talking to a manager the night before their package starts and getting their tickets then but its not something they normally do.

I have read on the boards that there is a way to get your tickets (at the parks guest services I believe) up to 3 days before a reservation starts. Don't remember all the the details, but you may want to try a search. This won't help with the meal plan, but hopefully will with the tickets.

what kind of 40% code did you all get? first off, the AP 40% discount off room rate, they offer this for AP holders whom do not need tickets in the first place.
