Gorilla Playset

While I do not have experience with Gorilla playsets I will say since this is the budget board that I bought our playset from Costco for 999. and it is a Rainbow playset. It has held up for 3 years now quite well.

Does it have room for 3 swings on it? I'd wait it out and check Costco in the spring if I knew I could get a climbing wall, slide and 3 swings for $999. Online though I'm not finding anything like that.

Hi,
We bought our Gorilla Playsets swing set from Bestpricetoys.com and then gave us a great deal.

I would be worried about the tarp top wearing out and how much/often it would need to be replaced. Do you have a Sams Club near you? This swingset has 3 swings and a wood roof plus a playhouse.

We bought this one and it's held up great and very sturdy. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=198829&navAction=push
I swing on it with my daughter all the time. You can replace the glider with another swing but that would cost more. We actually bought it used off of Craigslist from someone who had it for almost 3 years. So it's almost 5 years old now and all we have to do is stain/protect the wood.

We got the Sam's Club set (almost the same but not quite) I really wanted a wood roof because those tarp ones get faded and torn and need replaced often. It is VERY sturdy. Our 17 year old daughter can swing on it with her little brother. We had a cracked board when we unpacked and had to call them. They shipped us a new board out no problem. Very good customer service!

We got ours from Sam's Club 8 years ago, for $999, and was the best decision I made.

It's extremely sturdy, is made with 6x4's and 4x4's, has 3 swings (or we swap out our trapeze, 2-person swing, or rope ladder), monkey bars, slide, rock wall, covered "clubhouse" up top, sandbox and little deck below.

We've had 4 kids swinging and it doesn't budge an inch (and I've also swung alongside dd's)... and still looks almost brand new, except for where the deer have scratched their antlers against one of the railings by the little deck, lol.

I built ours but you can use kits from Swing n' Slide where you buy the lumber and they supply the kit elements. I actually found a kit at the Habitat For Humanity ReStore and used the swings and bars for our set and gave the other elements to my sister.

I am a Sam's Club member. I wasn't sure how sturdy they were, so glad to hear they are a good buy! :) Maybe we'll get one of those. Also good to know about the roof. I really appreciate all the info.

Gnomegirl, I will also check into swing and slide.

Thanks everyone!

We have had a Gorilla Playset for 3 years now. It has held up great for us. The tarp roof still looks just like the first day.

Ours has room for 3 swings and a climbing wall, tire swing, slide, rope ladder, and fort.

We are going to clean and seal the wood again this summer.

We purchased it direct from Gorilla and got free shipping.

Yes :) It has 3 swings but also came with the bar thing (sorry cannot remember the name) a toddler swing and a tire swing. The can be configured with whatever 3 you want up. It also has the wood roof on the clubhouse not a tarp.

It has a climbing wall. It has a kids picnic table that can be used either underneath the club house or separately out in the yard.

I will see if I can find a pic but I know in the spring that Costco always carries name brand swingsets for the discounted 999. price.

They have swingsets on their site as well but not as deeply discounted as in the warehouse.

Okay so I cannot find the exact one i have but looking at Costco's website they are carrying Gorilla brand right now so I bet that is who they put out for the spring sale. It usually coincides with tax refund time :rotfl: end of January early Feb. Might be worth it to stop and take a look at the warehouse around then

Thanks so much all of you! I really appreciate your input. I think we'll go ahead and wait and see what's in the warehouses when it's closer to spring then.

Just want to chime in, we bought our rainbow set almostg 9 years ago, solid as a rock still, the teens still use it, tarp top, no problems at all.

We ended up getting a Lifetime Playset. We have a Lifetime store a few minutes away from us and were able to get a good price, well, good for a Lifetime set :) Hubby and his dad were supposed to be putting it up this weekend, but we finally got our first real snow fall of the winter. Of all the luck.... :)

Your kids will really enjoy it I am sure once it is all up :) DH and I put ours together and it was a real ummm bonding project but we had fun. We have had little snow this winter as well. I am hoping we will not get any more until we return from Disney!
