Hi All

Only 2 weeks until our vacation to the USA, so excited!

Have just purchased a GoPro Hero 4 and wanting to make some compilation type videos from our vacation. Our last time in the USA we took a GoPro with us (Older one) and it didn't really get used that much other than when driving and skiing.

I am wanting to use it a lot more in the theme parks and also the streets of NYC when we eventually get there after Orlando.

What hints and tips can you offer? I know Selfie Sticks are banned, what other methods do you use for filming? We have a stroller, so was thinking of mounting to the stroller sometimes, and also using the chest mount on our eldest daughter.

I've seen this video (Below): How do you think he filmed this? I really like the perspective, think it'd be good for Mine Train, Exp Everest, Splash etc

extendable selfie sticks are banned but the non extending gopro handles are still OK. My son just used his in WDW and had no problem with security other than being asked to show that it doesn't extend

Looks to me like they either clamped it onto the stowage net in front of them, or the person in front of them held the camera over their shoulder. I've done the latter on Big Thunder with good results. I'd never clip one into something where if it came loose, it could hit someone.

I have a floating handle which I used on our september trip. only once did security ask more about it and if it was a selfie stick. since it was only a handle with a strap after they saw it didn't pivot to be a selfie device and just a handle to make the tiny camera reasonable to hold and some thought into guest safety with the strap when using it on rides they more than welcomed it in. It's an ofifical gopro product, just look for "gopro the handler" on their website or amazon.

The mounts for a stroller and such sounds like an interesting way to get some child height images of the park.

I absolutely adore my gopro, but I have yet to have good luck with it in the parks. I feel like the lack of focus kinda ruins the pictures and I hate the way it films parades. Obviously this is a personal opinion. If you have an SLR, I might suggest you bring that too just in case.

For water parks, we've used the head strap with awesome results! You could try that for POV type videos.
