GoPro at WDW Must Haves

Hey Everyone! Last year I took my new GoPro Hero 4 Silver to the World, but had sadly a "selfy-stick". Never once did I extend it on a ride or in front of people, but now with the ban I need something new to bring to use it. Anyone have any suggestions on new hand helds for the GoPro or anything suggestions?

I usually have just hand held the GoPro (both in the case and out of the case) when in the parks and only occasionally use a selfie stick. You do have to keep your fingers out of the way! You might find a small grip handy and a little more steady but I usually just don't want to carry it. There are a number available and one that floats would be good for in water use. A wrist lanyard would also be handy especially on rough rides and if you are prone to drop things!

I bought one for our Hawaii trip last year. I used it there, and I used it skiing in January. Thats it. Not even sure I will take it to disney next week.

The quality of the GOPRO's is just a little suspect. Add to that, they are just an action cam. So any critical vacation memory videos will look like they were taken from an action cam.

I agree the GoPro tends to have a "look". The ultra wide angle is a look I don't particularly like myself. I typically wont' use that setting and will minimize the wide angle by using the medium or narrow field of view available in the 1080 modes (and possibly the 4k modes if I remember right).

What attracted me to the GoPro was not the action cam aspect but the size and portability. It travels very well and is small and unobtrusive in use. I've used it on several trips now, Europe, The Philippines, scuba diving and above water and at Disney! For me it works very well.

I use this at the parks. On some rides (no G force) super smooth footage! Never go to the World without it!

I just happened across this. I'm really starting to want an Osmo. I already have a Phantom 3 and several other 4k cameras.

My question is this. did anyone at the parks try to treat the Osmo as a selfie-stick? Were you able to move about freely in the parks using it handheld at arm's length?

Not at all. They're looking for anything that extends. If it doesn't extend, its not an issue! I've taken mine there twice so far!

I have two GoPros and they serve a very specific purpose but if you know where a GOOD hand-held gimbal is that's available for the GoPro (or the like) and is affordable proportionally, I'm all ears. I know about the one on Kickstarter but it's still spendy relatively speaking and AFAIK, it has not shipped yet.
