I am looking to purchase one or possibly two of these. I am hoping to get them for $25.00 each. Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase them for this price?

Thank you.

I finally got around to setting up the Google Home Mini that DH got for free for some purchase he made today. It’s so fun! Although I now have premium Spotify so DS could get specific songs to play. And darn, I wish I had picked a couple when Target had them for $25. I did get the Google Home and Google Home Hub but can’t decide if I am keeping either of them since the Mini works so well. I am going to keep a look out for them also.

Thank you Anne I bought two of them. You're right. They didn't charge me sales tax.

Wow. I didn't see this until now. It is not there anymore. Bummer. I would have bought two more at that price.

Target has them for $29 (when you add the item to your cart) and then they are offering $30 credit for the wifi plug which is $30 making it basically free. I ordered two of them. It will be nice to tell Google to turn my Christmas tree on or off.

Ok. What the heck is the WiFi plug? I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff. I thought it would come with everything that I needed. So I have to buy these?

WiFi plugs are awesome I have them for all my Christmas lights and also have them on lights in my kids rooms. They’re “Smart.” You can use the Google Mini to turn them on and off. I just set up scenes (like fancy timers) in the app on my phone for when I want them to turn on or shut off. You don’t *need* them but once you have them you’ll want more.

So true! First thing Hmini hears in the morning is, "turn on the kettle!" The devices are valuable by themselves--"Hey google, play ocean sounds" as I unwind. "OK google, broadcast dinner's ready." I've read that an update is rolling out to enable reply to a broadcast--getting closer to intercom capabilities. My husband never sees my texts/phone calls until hours later. With Hmini on his desk, he does hear when I send, "Hey google, broadcast 'check your texts'." I have three already but ordered those 2 from Walmart (we still have some rooms without them). Ask for outside temps; if you have a wifi thermostat, you can tell it to adjust temperatures. Many added "smart" devices can be voice-controlled through the mini. I just bought a little golden book (just a regular book) to read along with mini's sound effects. Disney is going to do complete story read-alongs kind of like the 45 vinyls with read-along books my boys had (and still have) nearly half a century ago.
For sure, you'll want more.

I meant the plugs but you’re about convincing me to set up something I can give commands. :rotfl:I’ve been slowly building my “smart” things collection. So far we have two Ecobees, a Ring Doorbell, Kasa Smart plugs and I just got a MyQ garage door hub. I’ve just been running them through the apps. I try to get stuff that is compatible with both Alexa and Google because I haven’t decided which to go with yet. I’d like it to be Apple’s HomeKit but it’s just not compatible with enough things and I don’t want to hold off until it is. I did get a free Echo Dot when I bought the Ring but it’s sitting in my closet.

So, am I to understand that you use the WiFi plugs on things you want the google mini to activate? Like if you plug something in with these plugs you can say, ok google shut off the Xmas tree or set something up on your phone to automatically do it at a certain time?

Yep, that’s how they work. If you get some make sure they work with the mini. There will be a list of what they’re compatible with.

@wenrob, at first, I was referring to the plugs, etc. I also wanted to show how the mini's can be valuable by themselves. Currently, I only have plugs, a thermostat, and a chromecast and chromecast tv that are smart items. I had been using my treadmill buddy (aka Fire tablet/Alexa) to control the floor fan. Google Assistant on the Fire can do the same. I understand the Alexa devices do have complete intercom abilities. I got the first two mini's a year ago for $4. each when Walmart was running a promo.

This is what i ordered for DH for Xmas. DSis and DBIL have an Alexa tower and my mum got DBIL a couple of Dots last year. The kids love asking alexa stuff and I wouldn't mind asking lighta to turn off without having to make the rounds.

We have two dots, one in the living room and one in DS11's bedroom and we use them ALL the time.
