Google Earth!!!

I think we just put in the zip code. Let me know if this doesn't work, I will call my DD and ask her. :cool1:

OK SILLY ?, I found the MK saw the castle from top view, is there a way to see it better or front view? I did the tilt thing but it made things flat. :confused3 princess:

These must be very old pictures. Saratoga Springs Resort looks nothing like what the map says it should look like.

Unfortunately, no there isn't. These are satellite shots and will only show top down pics.

You can see the terrain at the Grand Canyon (Colorado River View) but nothing around the LBV area....

What is that water area at the back of MK? Near Toontown?

What is google earth? Do you type earth on google? How are you finding all this? :confused3

here it goes... If I have misidentified anything, please (politely) tell me...

As noted in a prior post, the real street address does not always match up with what Google Earth shows. With that restated below are a few addresses / locations. You may need to move the image around a little. In some cases I used longitude and latitude vs. street address for the location.

Copy and paste the address / location to the Google Earth address / point of interest field.

Animal Kingdom Lodge:
+28° 21' 8.25", -81° 36' 13.81"

Contemporary:
4600 North World Drive Lake Buena Vista FL

Grand Floridian:
+28° 24' 39.18", -81° 35' 17.41"

Polynesian:
1600 Seven Seas Drive Lake Buena Vista FL

Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter:
2201 Dixie Drive Lake Buena Vista FL
(resort is south of the address)

Port Orleans Resort - Riverside:
1251 Dixie Drive Lake Buena Vista FL

Wilderness Lodge:
+28° 24' 32.18", -81° 34' 23.96"

Epcot:
+28° 22' 31.18", -81° 32' 58.05"

Magic Kingdom:
+28° 25' 7.45", -81° 34' 52.31"

Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC):
+28° 24' 18.72", -81° 34' 47.30"

Orlando Intl Airport (MCO):
+28° 25' 51.93", -81° 18' 29.24"

Thanks so much for all of these...however it says cannot find when I type in the latitude and longitude :confused3

I typed in my zip code and everything was fuzzy. How do you zoom in and stay clear? Also anyone know the zip code to type in for WDW?

A lot of areas don't have hi-res images yet. I know my neighborhood is one of them. We'll just have to wait until they get some updated images.

ZIP: 32830

Yep definitely addicting. I was trying to find our pool house that we stayed in that was off 192 but couldn't. I still need to play around with it. Wasn't able to do what the other poster said about skipping along the monorail. Everything was fuzzy. Is it just my computer?

...now I have a totally NEW thing to do on the computer, and YES, it's ADDICTING! I just zoomed in on the Lego Imagination Center....COOL! :cool1:

Oh my goodness, is that a Mickey-shaped POND in the infield at the track?!!

How are you guys finding the castle and monorail and all that fun stuff? I zoom in on WDW, and it gets fuzzy. I don't know what's what.

That's the old 20,000 leagues ride, now defunct and replaced with Pooh's playground late last year...was sitting behind walls waiting for something for many, many years (and still waiting in my opinion...such a PRIME spot for a A+ ride!

Hidden mickey - Golf course sand trap- 28 degrees, 24' 07 N by 81 degrees 36' 25 W

and not so hidden, take a look at the flowers on the MK main gate entrance in front of the train station...Mickey!

also...train is coming into Toontown Station about 500 yards up the line...

and COOLEST of ALL...look at EPCOT, the stagin area for Illuminations at 28 degrees, 22' 08 N by 81 degrees 32' 43 W - the wings of the globe are open wide like a flower...

To ericafny - If you copy the 2nd line for any of the entries in my prior email and paste it into the field where you would normally enter a street address and hit enter, it will take you to that location. If you miss any of the digits, spaces, degree signs, punctuation, etc... it won't work.

Using the info in my prior post:
Magic Kingdom:
+28° 25' 7.45", -81° 34' 52.31"

If you copy and paste: +28° 25' 7.45", -81° 34' 52.31"
in its entirety exactly as provided it will work.

golliwobbler,

Thanks for the positioning on the Illuminations Globe!!

FWIW - A few years ago my DS and I played the Magnolia Golf Course. I had the "pleasure" of landing and subsequently hitting my golf ball out of the Mickey shaped sand trap on hole #6.

Anyone know how often they update their images?

I would love to see The Boardwalk area, MGM and Animal Kingdom in more detail.
