We were looking at it last night and remarking there was no way it could be done in time. I figured this announcement was coming. I'm excited for the restaurants and bummed over those being delayed. They were test running cars on the track Tues night, but not like those cars haven't been on before...

I'm glad we're going in July. That is one reason why we didn't want to go in June. Of course, they could always move the date back further. Guess we will have to see.

I was looking forward to trying the Paradise Garden Grill on my June trip but no such luck. I was also hoping for at least some of the walls to be gone but I guess no such luck there either!

That's a bummer! I am not as bummed about the ride although we haven't been on it in awhile and I know my girls would have liked to have ridden it but was REALLY looking forward to trying the restaurants. I always find that there are not a lot of options in DCA that I really like other than Taste Pilots. We used to eat at the pizza place that was there and in fact ate there just last summer on our last trip so I am def bummed about that also too because I have NO idea when we will be able to get back. We had hoped for an Oct trip but between the outrageous airfare and with the economy I don't know if that is going to happen now. May have to be next summer

We were there for a hew hours on Wed. and I didn't think it looked like they could make their planned opening.

Looking forward to the new restaurants. DCA is sorely lacking in food places.

I was surprised by this news, because I think the RIDE is ready..... they were testing it every night this week, starting at 8:15 or 8:30 pm until dawn it seemed. We watched from our room at the Villas at GC. They were still painting the clouds though, and giving them more depth, etc.

I think the work left is largely in the surrounding area, the queue lines, the trees, and of course the restaurant areas.

We enjoyed watching the work, and of course, we watched World of Color every night from our balcony!

Oh makes me happy that I reconsidered trying to make it to DLR in late June.
Hopefully by Aug most of the current refurbs will be done (well obviously not the major renovations at DCA )
