We enjoy both, but we've had funner experiences during the brunch. Some trips we do both!!

"Any time is a good time for Goofy's!!" :cool1:

We have done and liked both. Our choice depends on what we have scheduled.

I would say whenever you have the most down time to relax for a bit. For us it was late breakfast after our magic morning. We really enjoyed it. My teen sons also had dinner there later in the week, which they also really liked.

We typically have dinner there on arrival night (because we don't go to the parks until the next morning).

I've been going to Goofy's Kitchen ever since it first opened (a million years ago ).

I've never eaten dinner there, because I've not wanted to miss the Best Breakfast Buffet, Ever. :rotfl:

We've only done breakfast/brunch once but have done dinner many times. I voted for dinner. We like doing a 5:30 dinner that way we can head back to the park in time for the parde and fireworks. We're going again for dinner in about 3 weeks.

What kind of food is at the dinner? The descriptions are pretty vague. I recall someone saying lots of seafood? :confused3

Brunch has a good mix of breakfast and lunch food - so we always enjoy that. We've done dinner a couple of times. It was okay, but didn't seem to have as much variety as you experience at brunch.

Goofy's has a LOT of dessert offerings, and some pretty good ones for a buffet.

It seems like we can't go wrong either way!

Thanks everyone for your input, I think we'll plan out our 5 days and see what works the best for our schedule.

:)

It's nice to get the day started with the hardy buffet. But on the other hand if you have leisure time, it's nice to leave for a while for dinner and then come back into the park for the night shows.

You didn't have an option for our family, the answer for us would be none. We did not enjoy GK at all and we don't plan to ever go back. The food was just OK, the characters ignored us for the most part and our server hovered making us feel very rushed. We won't go back, we'd much rather do Minnie or Ariel. :)

I would choose breakfast at the earliest I could get in. What I love about GK is that I can eat my meal and get my character interaction and still make it to the gates well before the park opens.

What time does GK open in the morning?

We were going to do it for brunch and then AG for dinner, but now it doesn't seem like AG will be an option for dinner by July.

What is Minnie's like?

Thanks again everyone!

mmm their brunch is so tasty, we`re booked for this Saturday.

But come our September trip we are going to try out their dinner, mainly because DH loves prime rib.

I say breakfast/brunch too.:thumbsup2

I have only done the dinner at Goofy's twice, long ago (I thought it was only once, but a friend reminded me of a second dinner we had), so I don't feel qualified to really say "Don't do the dinner." I just haven't tried it enough times or sampled enough things from what they have to be able to say I didn't like it, not to mention that it was a long time ago when I ate dinner there. I know I was not particularly hungry on the evenings we ate there, so I think that nothing really appealed to me, but that was not the fault of Goofy's. That was just my mood/lack fo appetite. However, they do have a very large buffet for dinner or breakfast, so I am sure if I were to try the dinner again, I would find more than enough to keep me amused.

Now, breakfast/brunch, on the other hand, I have done countless times (like Spacemermaid, I have been eating there since it was in its old, old location), and I can highly recommed that, without question!! In fact, when I was at Goofy's this past December, I actually noticed that the food was even better than it had been the last few times we had eaten breakfast there. The taste and quality seemed to have improved (another DIS-er, Jimreuter, recently ate there and said the same thing - it seemed like the food got better). It could be they got a new chef in the kitchen - not sure - but I noticed a definite improvement, and I had always liked the food at Goofy's even before then.

Thanks so much Sherry, I appreciate your input.

Sorry for all the questions...what is the latest time you can book for brunch?

What is Minnie's like?

Thanks again everyone!

Minnie & Friends is breakfast only (no character dinners). Lots of characters - more characters than any of the other character meals. (I haven't even been there yet but I can see that by looking at people's photos.) It's very popular among DIS-ers. The price is a little bit cheaper than Goofy's or Ariel's (it is not considered "Premium Dining" like Goofy's and Ariel's are), so that's a good thing. Minnie & Friends gets consistently mixed reviews of food quality, however, with a slant towards the negative. Some folks have said the food is "inedible," "my eggs were powdery," etc. I can't say because I haven't been there yet, so I don't know if the food is just bad on certain days (those dreaded 'off days'), or if the reviews are based on people's individual tastes, etc. Basically, people have different tastes and preferences, so what is bad to one person may be great to someone else.

But out of all the character meals, Minnie & Friends - while extremely popular - seems to be the one that gets more negative comments on its food, but people always have rave reviews on the number of characters and the level of character interaction. There are many people who enjoy it. One thing to note is that Minnie & Friends is now the only character meal where the Pooh characters can be found (they used to be at Goofy's in the old days, but they moved!). Usually, it's Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger, but I have also heard of a rare Piglet sighting or two here and there. I won't be deterred by the bad food reviews. I will eventually give Minnie's a try and see what it's like for myself, but I will never give up Goofy's Kitchen from my DLR trips!!

Thanks so much Sherry, I appreciate your input.

Sorry for all the questions...what is the latest time you can book for brunch?

You're very welcome.:goodvibes You know - hopefully someone else can answer the question the last booking time for brunch. My friends and I tend to get there very early, or close to when it opens, so I am not sure. I think the latest booking time for brunch depends on when the restaurant closes its first shift that day. There are some days it closes at 2 p.m., and other days when, I think, it closes at noon or 1:00 p.m. They want to give everyone enough time to eat and mingle with characters, so the reservations would be cut off sometime before then.

We have never eaten at Goofy's, but every time Sherry reviews breakfast/brunch I make a mental note to put it at the top of the list for our next trip. :thumbsup2

Hee hee!:rotfl2::rotfl2: I actually stayed quiet and let the thread go for a while before I jumped in. I wanted to see what the other feedback was before I said anything. I hope you enjoy Goofy's when you finally get around to trying it. Let us know either way - good or bad. There are a few negative reviews here and there, of course (like for any restaurant), and it is a lot of money to charge for a character meal, but more often than not, the reviews from everyone are good. The variety of food is so excellent that it's hard to not be happy and find something to eat. And most times, the characters are doing their best to keep everyone happy.
