I'm a little concerned about how my DS 3 is going to take to the characters. I for sure don't want to push them on him....but I think with time he might warm up to them. We are planning on doing Goofy's Kitchen at least one morning for breakfast. My question is.......would you plan this early in the trip?? OR for one of our last days there? I was at first thinking later....so he'd be more apt to interact with them at GK...but I just received our planning video from Dland and it reccommends early in the trip so the kids can warm up to the characters..........We're doing a 5 day hopper so there's time I just can't decide when to make our reservation for. Any suggestions?

Tough choice....the one thing that I can say from our experiences in character meals is that the characters in the restaurants do an awesome job. If a child seems nervous, they will try in a subtle way to try to get the kids to warm up to them. On the flip side though, if the child is screaming and REALLY does not want anything to do with the character, they will move on and devote their time to the other kids who express an interest.

The characters in the park are being bombarded by so many kids, so if the child is not interested, they really don't seem to have the time (for the most part) to try to get the child happy.

I realize this did not help your decision - but I thought I would throw out a little insight to maybe help, or maybe confuse you more...:rolleyes1

I'd go early in your stay. Like the previous poster said, the characters at character meals will probably have more time to ease into things with your DS than those in the park would. Especially if you are in the restaurant at a slow time. We had PS at Goofy's at 7:30 when we were there over Thanksgiving and it was VERY quiet in there, so the characters had tons of time to play with our kids and came back to our table several times. That may not be the case as much if the restaurant is very crowded, so that's something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the thoughts. I think we're going to do GK on tuesday....our second day there. :) Tuesday should be a slow day in March right?

We also did Goofy's the first morning of our first full day in the park. It got him in the mood to head to the park and he was looking forward to further character interaction.
