Last night my boyfriend and I drove back from visiting family in S.D. We were both feeling hungry and decided to grab a bite before heading home. I've always wanted to try Goofy's Kitchen, so he agreed and I called and made a PS reservation for 7:20pm.

The traffic on the fwy was terrible, but it somehow lightened up and we arrived in Downtown Disney earlier than expected. We headed for the check-in area for Goofy's and I asked the CM if it were possible for us to get in early. They said: "Sure! Not a problem!" and seated us in 10 minutes (an hour before our PS).

We got a nice table close to the buffet area. I noticed that we had a lot more character interaction here than we've experienced at Ariel's Grotto. We were able to take a photo with the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, Cinderella, Goofy, Chip, Pluto and Minnie. The only character we didn't get a chance to meet was Max.

The food was great and I loved the selection they had. We didn't know where to start! My fav. was the fish (sole) and the prime rib was perfect (not undercooked). We couldn't wait to dive into the desserts. I had a colorful decorated cupcake and bread pudding. My bf had the mini-cheesecake and jello (has a chocolate mickey in it).

I highly recommend this place. It's also a fun place to bring your kids. They have a selection of food for kids such as the pb&j pizza, cheese pizza, mac n' cheese, etc. The staff here were all friendly and fast. Overall a wonderful and fun dining experience. :goodvibes

Cool! We'll be there in September with our two boys! Thanks for the review. :sunny:

PS. I believe GK also has a AAA discount...

Couldn't agree with you more! We ate at Goofy's Kitchen three times during our week long stay this summer. It was fabulous! Everying from the character interaction, the quality of the food, and the service was wonderful. We will most definitely be dining there multiple times when we return at Christmas time.

On our first ever DL trip we did GK the first night there. We LOVED it! Actually, we rated it the #1 character meal we've *EVER* had and we've had alot. (we included all the meals we've had at WDW and we tried all the ones that DL offers so that says alot!) I highly, highly recommend it!

This is really good to hear! Makes me excited to eat there in October, yum!

We have this one on our maybe list for Breakfast, but I love Stitch and My Husband loves Chip and Dale so we are torn but I seem to hear the best reviews from GK!

we had a horrible experience at GK in December. We only saw 2 characters, and one was because our whole section complained. one group left with their daughter in tears because no characters except Rafiki had come to their table.

same trip we went to Minnie's breakfast in the park and it was WONDERFUL.

next week on our trip we are going to try the princess lunch at Ariel's......

That IS terrible! Which section did you sit in? We've been twice, once on each trip. We had a great time both times, but the second time, at the beginning of this month, it was less interaction than the first time. Alice spent about 20 minutes at one table near us, where they were celebrating birthdays. We thought she'd never make it our way! And we, and the table next to us, told the server that we hadn't seen Goofy or Pluto at all. She got Goofy to make it over, but Pluto never did. We couldn't wait any longer. We did see Aladdin and Baloo and Brier Fox, as well. And we waited for Alice before we left, as she was so close. We didn't want to miss her.

we were in the first section when you walk in. we saw so many other characters in the other sections, they just never came to ours. everyone was so upset. we heard excuse after excuse. a birthday party was in another section, characters were going on breaks. whatever. i paid for the dinner for 14 people, we should have seen more characters.

now, we did go on our trip before that and had a wonderful time, that was for breakfast though, so perhaps that is the difference?

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. If you decide to try it again I hope that your experience will be a happy one.
